'Eloise, can you please let me read the article now?' I whined at the younger girl that had snatched the article from my grasp mere minutes before.'Fine, if you wish...' The brunette reluctantly handed me the article.
'Thank you,' I beamed, ready to read Lady Whistledown's take on the recent events that had occurred in the square.
I was just about to begin reading when Lord Berbrooke called at the door and sat down on the sofa that resided to one side of the drawing room.
'Your caller,' Lady Bridgerton whispered to a woeful Daphne.
Eloise and I both shared disgruntled looks before making our leave. Before I left, I made sure to give Daphne an encouraging smile. He was a horrible man, and it pained me to see her suffer.

Later that evening, we attended the opera.
Members of the square and other lords and ladies filled the floor. Everyone socialising in groups before the performance started. As we entered the hall, Anthony broke apart from the group and began discussing something with a group of important gentlemen, all much older than him. Feeling lost, I mindlessly followed Lady Bridgerton as she clutched Daphne's arm.
'Our box, mother?' Daphne pleaded. I was initially caught off guard at her tone but soon recognised Lord Berbrooke across the hall.
'A sensible idea, indeed. To get seated before the performance starts,' I hastily agreed.
Lady Bridgerton simply nodded.
Heading in the direction of our box someone called out, 'Lady Bridgerton!' Turning, I recognised Lady Danbury.
'I would like to welcome you all to my box this evening.' There was a pause. 'I insist.'
She left no room for dispute and soon enough the three of us were following her to the box.
Shortly after we got situated, the singer began. I watched her intently, as Lady Bridgerton and Lady Danbury spoke in hushed tones throughout the performance. I did not mind though, as I was truly fascinated by the music, it had captivated me.

'Who knows if Whistledown is even a she?' Benedict hypothesised.
'Fair point.' Anthony told.
'Because she is simply too good to be anyone but a man?' Sarcasm coated Eloise's words like a blanket as she glared at her older brother.
The conversation flowed as we all ate dinner. Lady Bridgerton had thought to invite the Duke as well, I saw right through her plan though. It was rather obvious, especially since she had sat him right next to Daphne. Either way, I was just glad that everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
'Could it be Lady Featherington?' Hyacinth asked opposite me.
'No!' We all laughed.
'You have yet to read what Whistledown writes of the Featheringtons, little sister,' Eloise giggled to the right of me.
'If we can rule anyone out, it is she.' I chimed to Eloise who had been try to find out Whistledown's true identity.
