"So we leave tomorrow night at ten," Lucian said as we sat in the meeting room of our base."The school has already been informed of the kid's absence as well."Val informed.
"Alright good. What about security issues that we talked about?"Anthonie asked as we went over preparations for the trip.
"We doubled security and made sure we have our topmost loyal and trusted men at both homes. Nothing should get past them unless proven suspicious" Lucian assured us, pulling out a cigar and lit it.
We spent a few more hours about our business and schedules for upcoming events before it was time for the meeting to end.
"Good. I think that is everything we need to discuss ."I said standing up ."See you guy's tomorrow night."I said as we hugged each other goodbye.
"Antonio ,my boy."Jakob called, getting up out of his seat . ''Yes uncle Jakob."I turned to the old man who was like a second father to me.
"So how long are you and my daughter going to be playing this game of cat and mouse? "He asked, clasping his arm around me.
I let out a soft chuckle before answering his question,"I don't even know myself ." I admit."I love your daughter very much. I fall in love with her more every day but I just..."I said before getting cut off.
"You just want her to be protected and that's bullshit because you know she can protect herself. So what's really the issue?"He asked as we stopped walking.
"I guess I don't want her to get hurt ."I said as I leaned against the wall."I've never done relationships because of our line of work and the targets on our backs. I just don't want her to be in even more danger than she's already in"I look into the old mans wise eyes.
"Well, whenever you decide to stop being a pussy and man up and ask her to be your girlfriend, you will have our blessing. He laughed and continued down the hall.
"Thank you, Uncle Jak."I pat the old man's back as we continued our walk.
"Antonio, "Alessa ran up to us with Alex on her tail. "Hey, Uncle Jakob." they both said, smothering the old man in hugs. "Hey girls, "he greets, patting their backs."Will you let an old man breathe ?" "Sorry." They giggled letting him go on his way.
"What?"I asked them before taking off down the hall. "You guys didn't tell us we were leaving tomorrow night. We haven't even packed yet"Alex freaked out, waving her hands around.
"Calm down Alex, "I reassured her,"We had the maids pack for you guys already. All you need to do is get the stuff you want on the jet with you."I tell them as we walk down the hall.
"They didn't have to do that. "Alessa said softly.
It always amazes me how humble these two are. We have all these helpers and yet they would never let them help out. The staff is like family to us and would do anything to make the twins more comfortable and at home.
