Chapter 16: That First Kiss

They kissed, I thought in disgust. But it looked really nice at the same time. I wonder if Claw would ever hug me... Or kiss me.... I thought about it longingly. A slapped myself awake and decided to confront Amber. I stood up and walked into the clearing where the two love birds where hugging.

"Amber?," I asked softly. Both Amber and Shadow flinched and turned around to see me walk in. They both stared blankly at me. Not saying a word. I could feel the wind blowing softly against my face as I walked over to them. "Sora... I-," she said and hugged Shadow again. "I'm sorry just don't tell the others please," she asked looking at me again but still holding Shadow.

I've never seen this side of Amber before. She was legit begging me to keep thier relationship a secret. I didn't know what to say. For Amber to beg for something was like trying to get a dog to meow. I nodded still surprised by the sight I'd just witnessed. "I knew you liked him Amber but enough for you to leave a fight and possibly get us killed... Amber," I said disappointedly.

Shadow ran up to me and started to squeeze my arm. "Don't you dare say that you mother f***ing jerk. If you want to know it was all my idea so don't go saying stuff like that until you know the whole mother f***ing story," he growled at me and the slammed my hand down. I rubbed it as he walked away. He touched Ambers face and looked really nice all of a sudden.

"I'll see you again very soon," he said as he walked back threw the woods. I couldn't move. Everything I had witnessed was so wiered yet I felt this sensation that I wanted the same. I shook my head waking up from my day dream and went back to Amber. "When did you two start dating?," I asked looking for answers.

"We aren't dating. We just like each other that's all," she said. Ya then why did you F-ing kiss that devil, I thought as I heard noise coming from the battle field. "Men retreat," I heard Shadow call out as him and his men left the woods. We walked back to the group and the first person I saw was Claw. I couldn't help it as I started to blush in front of him.

"Where in god's name where you two?," asked Dark as we sat next to her. Amber froze and I knew if I didn't pull off a lie right now we where going to be in trouble. "We were fighting more guys over there," I quickly said trying to cover up Amber's tracks for her. A sigh of relief came from Amber as Dark nodded. "I see," she said as she ripped apart a piece of bread and ate it.

We all ate our dinner which if you want to know was bread and water and set off for bed. We all slept on the ground and had only the thin blankets me a Amber got when we where in Con city. I heard owls, bats, and a barking dog all threw the night which didn't help with sleeping. Also the cold wind kept blowing off my blanket but the thing that kept me up the most was that kiss.

Amber had looked so happy when he had bent down a kissed her. She was lucky in that way. Her and Shadow made a good pair I guess. All this thinking wouldn't let me sleep so i went out for a midnight walk. I skipped over to where we had swam the other day and looked down into the water. My reflection came out fuzzy at first but then I cleared up.

Me alone..... That was what was in the reflection. I paused at thought about that for a second. Suddenly another blurry reflection was in the water. "Hope I'm not interrupting," said a voice. I spun around to see Claw standing over me. He sat down near the waters edge with his wings out and started to skip stones over the water.

I sat down next to him and we just sat there. The only sound was of the wind and the sound of the stone hitting the water. I sat thinking about Amber and Shadow again. They just looked so happy... And I had ruined it by finding out about it. I sighed feeling guilty and put my head between my legs. I rapped my arms around my legs too.

"You ok?," he asked. I picked my head up and looked at him. The moon was full and its reflection as so beautiful in the lake. "Have you ever wondered how it would feel to be kissed by someone you cared about....," I asked. He looked at me with a puzzled look on his face and then looked at the moon. "Why... Do you want to know?," he asked. I shrugged. "Well...," he said to me. "Why wait." I reached over and did it to me on my cheek...

He kissed me....
