A/N: Hello my loves, I just wanted to clear some things up. So first Kali's name is pronounced (Kah-lee) so when someone says Ali it's not Allie is (Ah-lee). I'd also like to say in the Wizarding World legal age is 17 and I made her 18 so it's legal for her and Charlie to be together. I know some of you want me to make this a Charliexreader, but I wanted to make my own character just so I had guidelines and didn't have to write y/n all the time. I wanted this to be a bit slow burn but there will be smut in the next chapter. Enjoy!
I turned around quickly to face Charlie. I'd talked to him a lot about my parents. It was probably one of the reasons I was friends with the twins, with them I was never looked over. I hugged him almost instantly wrapping my arms around his torso. His muscular arms wrapped around me as tears slipped from my eyes.
"Kali..." he said slowly taking my face in his hands, cupping my cheeks.
"Do you think they hate me, Charlie?" I said looking up at him. Merlin, he was handsome. "Every time they do this, and then they don't tell me where they're going. I feel like barely know them. They don't write, not even to congratulate me on being head girl."
"Of course they don't hate you, Kali. I know they're always busy and sometimes might be a bit absent but that doesn't mean they love any less, love." I blushed, burying my head in his chest again.
"Thank you, Charlie I can trust you," I said looking up at him slightly. Admiring all his features. His red hair at his shoulders, blown out slightly. His gorgeous blue eyes and his smile. A smile that could light up anyone and everything even in the darkest of days. I don't even know what I was thinking. It's Charlie my best friends', brother. I don't have any romantic interest in him I can't. Though when I look at him it's like my problems disappear and it's just us. I looked back down and he gave me a tight squeeze before letting go of me and putting his hands on my shoulders.
"You'll be okay Ali, you're stronger than you think," he said before pulling me back into a quick hug and placing a kiss on the top of my head. He turned away cleaning up his dishes leaving me a blushing mess. I quickly composed myself and turned back to my dishes.

You're stronger than you think
His words echoed through my head all night. Was I, could I really be strong. I can't even tell the twins I don't want to help with their future joke shop. They know I love magical creatures but they never thought I was serious about it. I mean I can't even tell my parents I don't want to work in the Department how was I supposed to tell them I wanted to go to some foreign country to observe magical creatures. Even if I did they'd never approve. I am to be a prim and proper girl one who doesn't want to get her hands dirty or make potions for the twins so they can blow up Proffesor's classrooms. I am to be well behaved, I am to be polite, I am to be perfect.
And I wasn't. But it's not like they even pay enough attention to me to notice. I am the forgotten child. But it doesn't matter it won't matter because when I graduate I'm done. I can do whatever I want I'll be free. And for now, I'll just have to hold onto that.

It was a busy morning at the burrow, things were flying around the room, via Fred and George, and I was supervising making sure no one got hit or any of Mrs. Weasley's things were broken. I was sitting on the couch with my book waving my wand every time something would fly across the room whether it was the object or other objects. Though after around 30 minutes of this annoying process I stood up from the couch angrily.
"You both are infuriating! I'm going outside." I snapped leaving forgetting my book, ignoring their mumbled out apologies. I left the burrow silently sitting down on the bench near Molly's rose garden leaning back and looking up at the sky. I wasn't mad at them just scared, scared to tell them, scared to disappoint.
"You okay?" Charlie said taking me out of my thoughts and into a hundred new ones. Like his accent, I'd been around people who were British before but his deep voice mixed with his British accent made my knees weak.
"Yeah. Just pondering."
"Well, if you're done pondering," he said sitting down next to me. "Fancy a chat?
"Sure," I said moving slightly to face him
"I have a surprise for you."
"Really? Where is it,"
"In my room, can't let mum see it but come up after dinner."
"What is it?"
"Well, that'd ruin the surprise wouldn't it,"
"Okay, but you're being very shady Charles."
"Am I now Kali?" he said smirking
