We wake up in the morning,
put on our masks
and maintain our roles in society.
Moving along with the crowd,
we pretend that we're happy
because we know that the ears of others
were never meant for listening
but only for hearing their own voices.
So we push our insecurities to the back of our minds,
make them the dead last priority,
and continue on with our day.
We let these insecurities build up
until we can't take it anymore
and they come rushing out
faster than we can catch them....
We are happy yet so undeniably sad.
A hurricane of emotions takes control
and flings us from one place to the other
as if we are but mere puppets with no control.
Confused and dazed,
we can't foresee where our emotions will lead us next.
We are tempest tossed.
