I'm sitting in a hospital room watching my mother writhe
She has been here for over a month now
She touches my hand, whispering "I love you..."
I stare into her teary eyes, nothing
She is gone, she left me
Why would she do that?
I close my eyes
I see her
Reaching out
"Mom..."

I stare at the reflection of light upon the floor
The shadows dancing to the beat of my heart
I hear voices that sound like my mother
They tell me such strange, demented things
I struggle in the restraining jacket
They locked me in here
They say I'm crazy
But I'm not
They are
Them

I am done here, there is nothing left for me
I talk to none and none talk to me
I am not here anymore, not really
Here I'm just an empty shell
Not in my thoughts though
There I am free
Together with mom
Long last
Together
