"Jess! Wake up! You still have school!"

A woman 's muffled voice was heard. She seemed to be calling her daughter.

"Five more minutes, mom..." The daughter whined.

"No more minutes! Look at the time, you're gonna be late!" Her mother yelled from downstairs.

"... Ugghh... Finee!" She sulked as she lazily rolled off her bed, making her fall on the floor with a loud thud.

"What was that??" Her mother asked, startled from the thud.

"Nothiinnggg..." She did not get up from her lying position and continued to roll to her closet to change.

Later...

"Bye mom!" Jessica bid her mother goodbye and ran, since she was almost late.

At school...

"Sorry I'm late!!" She crouched down from exhaustion while heavily panting, tired from all the running she did to get to school.

"It's fine. However, if you're late again, don't bother coming in, alright?" The teacher said as she was writing something on the board.

"Th-... Thank you!" Jessica bowed before walking to her seat.

After school...

"Jessi!" A certain friend of Jessica's called out. Jessica turned her head and saw Kazumi, her best friend, waving at her.

"Oh! Umi!" she waved back.

"So.. First things first.. How was the manga??" Kazumi questioned as she poked her on the shoulder for an answer.

Jessica stayed quiet before fake tears fell out of her eyes. "I-... It was very upsetting!" She cried out.

Kazumi's cheeky smile soon turned into sulking, "I know, right?! I hated it when Rengoku died! Now everyone died?!?" Kazumi joined the (fake) crying scene as they both talked about the manga together.

"Yeaahh!! I even stayed up all night!... That was why I was late to school..." Jessica sulked as Kazumi patted her back for emotional support.

"I wanna change it! I don't wanna see my favorite characters die!!" the two hugged each other as they sobbed dramatically, earning some stares from the people around them.

"Same! Too bad they're fictional.." Jessica replied.

After ranting about stupid stuff...

"See ya later, Umi!" Jessica waved at Kazumi as the two parted ways.

"See ya, Jessy!" Kazumi waved back.

Back at home...

"I'm home!" Jessica greeted as she took off her shoes at the entrance.

"Welcome back! I left you some cookies, they're at the kitchen if you want to eat them. They might be cold, though" Her mother's head popped out of the hallway.

"Oohh! Cookies! Thanks mom!" she exclaimed, rushing to the kitchen and ate the leftover cookies.

Later...

"Goodnight, mom!" Jessica bid goodnight as she went to her room.

She dove onto her bed and opened her laptop.

'Now let's re-watch "Kimetsu no Yaiba"!' She thought and played the video.

After the anime, she re-read the manga.
