As she filled his line of vision, everything around him came to a stand still. The moment their eyes met, everything else just faded away into the background. It was just silence and blurred lines other than each other. They drank in each other's appearance, taking note of everything from the distance of a few feet.
"Pragya." He breathed out, instinctively taking a step towards her.

The sound of him calling out her snapped her back into reality. She straightened with a start, her eyes widening just slightly. With a start she realised he was actually standing in front of her. Moreover, it looked like he wanted to speak to her. Every thought she'd had over the course of the two months, especially the past few days escaped her mind. All she could feel was the rising panic and the splitting headache. She couldn't do it. She couldn't face him. Not right now, not like this. She needed to get her head straight before she could talk to him. She needed to prepare herself but it but she forgot this was Abhishek Mehra she was dealing with.
Reacting instinctively, Pragya took a step back and then another. Before she knew it she was turning around and walking away blindly. Barely watching where she was going, all she knew was she had to get away from him right this instant.
~
It took a moment for him to realize she was actually trying to get away from him."Pragya please! Please don't go." He shouted, hurrying behind her. He wasn't just going to let her walk away. He couldn't. Pragya please! Can we please go somewhere and just talk." He pleaded, catching up to her and catching a hold of her elbow. "Please Pragya, I really need to talk to you."
"Please," She pleaded back, as though she was using all of her strength to keep her voice steady. "I - I can't - I can't talk to you right now. Please, I need time."
"Please Pragya! It's important!" He maintain, desperation lining in her voice that had her slowing down slightly. His next sentence had her stopping in his tracks. "It's about our daughter!" He finally called out. "Our younger daughter." He added a second letter, clarifying he wanted to talk about the daughter he had with him. That definitely caught her attention. Pragya stopped short and whipped around so fast it was a near miracle she didn't crack or twist anything.
"What about our daughter?!" She demanded instantly. "Is she okay?" "What's wrong? What happened?" She shot one question after another in a single breath.
She could feel panic and her pulse spiking instantly
"She's fine, She's fine! Abhi quickly, raising his hands in surrender in an gesture to calm her down, internally cursing himself for not realising this probably wasn't the best way to get her attention. Damn it, he'd barely gotten a few words out and he was already screwing this up. Of course she was likely to assume the worst. While it made him feel guilt, her reaction also gave him the tiniest hope that maybe, just maybe, this will work out after all. "I'm sorry, I should have worded it better." He apologised with sigh, "but really, she's fine." He assured her with a heavy heart. 'As fine as one can be when walking into an abyss.' He thought internally. Abhishek ran his hand through his hair nervously, trying to gather his words.
"Then what is it?" She asked staring at him as though she didn't quite believe him. He couldn't blame her. After all, he wasn't being completely honest. Rhea maybe alright physically, at least for now, but she was mentally and emotionally compromised.
