My phone vibrated, waking me up.
"Miranda Woodrow! Are you up yet?! You can't be late again! I've been texting you all morning!"
"Armani, calm down. Stop screaming at me, I'm up. You'd think it was the end of the world or something. What's up?"
"Okay, I get it, you're up. Who better to call you in the morning than your best friend?"
"I just want to go back to bed," I said before hanging up on her. I'm definitely not a morning person. I forced a rush of air out of my mouth while debating on getting up or not. I really can't be bothered, but I can't get in trouble for being late. My dad would kill me. He's really strict about keeping up my appearance, being a preacher's daughter and all.
I made myself get out of bed and went to the shower. I got out afterwards and decided on what to wear. I picked out my favorite pair of jeans, a black and pink floral top, black converse, and my black NorthFace. I lightly put on make up. Today I chose pink eyeshadow with winged eyeliner. After finishing with my mascara, I climbed down the stairs. I walked into the kitchen and greeted my mom. "Good morning, Mom," I said. Eggs and bacon were cooking on the stove. There was a knock at the door and I opened it to see Armani standing before me. "Hey, kid." She always picks me up before school, seeing as how I'm not allowed to drive, but today she was early.
"Do you have anything to eat?" Of course that's why she was here, food.
"Yeah, eggs and bacon are on the stove. Is that what brings you so early?"
"You know it."
"You only love me for my food," we both laughed.
"Good morning Mrs. Woodrow!"
"Good morning, hun!"
"Kiss up," I teased, sticking my tongue out at her. We both grabbed a plate of food and headed out of the house.
"So are you ready for school today?" She asked.
"Am I ever?" I gave her a look because she should've known the answer.
"Okay, miss sunshine."
"Why do you call me that?"
"I don't know, I think it suits you." The school is only fifteen minutes from my house, so it didn't take us long to get there.
"I'm definitely not ready for first block."
"You have world history, don't you?" I nodded yes. "Oh, that sucks. Mr. Morgan's pretty cute, but he's an ass, so it cancels out."
"His personality takes him down on the scale to a zero. Major turn off." We agreed and went our separate ways. First block dragged on, I got in trouble for nearly falling asleep, of course. I had economics for second block, which was okay. I like that class for some odd reason. I guess it's because I have Armani and Jake, my other best friend, in there with me. They always make it fun. My teacher let me sit out in PE today because I was feeling faint and weak again, I had a habit of doing that. Third block was Algebra II, which was horrible. I really just don't like school. I thought about dropping out, to be honest. Or I could just be homeschooled and come and go at my own will, that'd be nice. School doesn't interest me. Last period is my free period, so I just walk around campus. Today I decided to go to the library and read. I couldn't decide what book to read, so I just looked around mainly. The usual, boring day.
