"Home is where the heart is."

Pliny the Elder

"Home.." I muttered quietly as we tagged Wayme, "It's been awhile since I've heard that."

"Hm?" Wayme asked, "You okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine."

(a/n the biggest lie '~')

Wayme brought the three of us into a room. Natalie was still asleep, but this time we moved her to the couch. The room was blue and there were many.. Experimental samples? It looked exactly like those gruesome things in large beacons in our science lab; but in here, the beacons were filled with blue liquid and each of them had cheese with different sizes. I paused and went to look at them.

"Wayme, what are these?" I asked.

Wayme turned around and walked towards me, Amanda and Ruby also came to look. "Ah, these are ancient cheeses we collected from a treasure chest a few years ago," He placed his hand above one of the beacons, "We found them when we were exploring the ruins of τυρί." (tyrí, pronounced as 'tee-ree').

"Ruins of.. τυρί?" Ruby asked, "And what's that?"

"τυρί, the direct translation of cheese from Greek," Wayme said, "There was once a time when mice made edible cheese with the very means of dirt and sorcery."

"Wow, what..?" I asked. The word 'sorcery' always gets me, you can see I'm really interested over magic. "You mean they made cheese with only soil and magic?"

"That is correct,"

"Wow..." I said in awe, "But won't they get food poisoning or something? They're still eating soil in a way."

Wayme nodded, "They do-"

*bluuuuuuurgh*

We looked towards Amanda after identifying where the noise came from, "Um.. Ow?" Amanda said, "Something's weird with me."

"What did you do?" I asked, I examined her and I noticed that she was holding a piece of cheese in her hands, "What-"

Amanda's face was pale, her body colour was waaaaaaay lighter than before.

*burp*

"Oooh.. What?" Amanda said as she noticed we were staring at her, "Oh. Well I was really hungry, okay?" Amanda said, her eyes tearing with emotion. She didn't look upset but comedic instead. I held on to my mouth, trying to compress my laughter.

"What did you do?" Ruby asked.

"I was really hungry!"

"No, yes, but what exactly did you do?" Ruby asked again, still keeping her cool.

Amanda sighed and grumbled, "I saw this cheese on the table, my tummy was empty from morning, I couldn't take it no more, so I took a bite.." She paused, looked at herself, "And now I'm like that. How embarrassing."

Serves you right for eating without asking, I thought, and I burst out laughing as I found Amanda's actions hilarious.

"That's mean!" Amanda exclaimed, hugging onto her half-eaten cheese, "Wayme, is there a cure?"

"There is, but wait a moment," Wayme said as he walked towards the table where Amanda got the cheese from. He started tidying the scattered cheese into a neat pile. "Okay, the cure." He kept on moving. This time, he moved towards a cabinet, opened it and took out a bottle. The liquid in the bottle was snowy white.

Wayme passed the bottle to Amanda. "What's this?" Amanda took the bottle and looked around it. She opened the cap, the room was then filled with an aromatic sweet scent.

"It smells good," Ruby said, sniffing the air.

"Yeah, it's milk. Vanilla milk," Wayme told us, "It cures anything in here. Pain, toxic, and all kinds of things that may harm you."

*gulp gulp*

In a few moment's time, Amanda finished the drink. Her face and body turned back to normal.

"Woooh! I feel refreshed!" Amanda said. She adjusted the bottle above her mouth, and we stared as she finished the last drop. "Aaaah! I want another one!"

Wayme chuckled, "You could, but you have to collect the flowers yourself," Wayme pointed outside. "Those are the flowers, vanilla. We use them to brew the milk."

The three of us looked outside, and we saw several white flowers. Bees were all over the place, which I assume they're helping the flowers pollinate. Wayme closed the cabinet and said: "Other than plucking the flowers, you have to blend cheese too."

"Aww," Amanda said, disappointed, "But I really wanted another.."

"Why not, I'll teach you three after we tour the tribe house?" Wayme suggested. The three of us nodded, and he gestured us to follow him once again.

"Where are we heading now?" I asked Wayme.

"To the tribe house."

"Oh, right."

He lead us to a door (again), but this time he opened it and a.. purple-lighted-swirlish portal..? appeared before our eyes.

"Woah, is that a portal?" Ruby asked.

"Yeah, but more of a wormhole. You could access our tribe house but you'd need to take a long walk," Wayme said, "With this you can immediately arrive there."

"Cool!" I exclaimed, "Can we go in now?"

Wayme adjusted the chair and sat down, "Yeah, go on without me, I've something to do."

And just like that, the three of us ran into the portal.

*bling*

*plish plash*

In a few seconds' time, we landed hard. In water.

"What is this?!" I said, crawling to the side of the pool along with Amanda and Ruby.

We got to our feet, but we were already drenched.

"I hope this isn't a prank," Amanda said, "But okay."

From what I saw, I assume that this is the tribe house's hallway, as it's like a straight walkway with many paintings hanging on the wall. As we walked to the exit, we dried swiftly.

Amanda looked at herself, "Wow, we're already dry?"

"It must be the air-conditioning on the ceiling's work," Ruby said, pointing up.

"So the water was just like a fall-breaker?" I asked.

"I think so."

"Well that's cool," Amanda said, "Good thing's we're dry now."

We continued our way out, and we arrived at what it seems to be a living hall.

"Wait, guys... Wha- What's that ahead of us?" Amanda staggered, pointing in front. We eyed where she pointed.

A figure in black was right ahead of us- it has the shape of a mouse, and it was as tall as us... But why is it completely covered in black?

"Who are you?" I asked, a little unconvinced as the figure started moving towards us. Step by step, closer at every inch. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a statue.

Who am I, you askthe figure voiced. Heh, we're here to get you.

We moved back slightly, but from the corner of my eye, I saw Amanda and Ruby were shaking and biting their lip. Why? I don't feel nervous. The figure had a deep voice of a boy, but..

Who is he? No, What is he?
