y/n pov:

i'm a junior in high school and i'm moving across country, great. now i have to make new friends, start over, learn new street names and all of that.

i really didn't wanna go through that process, it's annoying and a pain in my asshole.

as i was putting my bags in the car, my aunt lucille told me to get daniel. i gave her a confused face.

L: he's talking to that one girl

then i realized who she was talking about, his girlfriend. soon to be ex, he told me he's breaking up with her since he knows we're never coming back here unless we choose to come back when we're older.

i walked over to the alley near our complex and saw him and her talking, i observed for a little while then saw her bawl and he tried to hug her but she pushed him away and walked the opposite direction.

he turned and saw me, he just shrugged. i just shook my head and chuckled, he jogged over to me.

D: why are you stalking me
Y/n: i'm not stalking you, your mom said to grab you we're going already
D: alright alright i'm coming
Y/n: so how'd she take it
D: not good obviously
Y/n: hey it doesn't hurt to ask
D: yeah i guess, but it's not like we were going to last forever
Y/n: what makes you say that
D: come on we're 16, this love stuff is for fun
Y/n: oh come on daniel you didn't think you'd marry her
D: i don't know marrying sounds like a big deal besides we're moving i can't keep it up with her while i'm across the country
Y/n: yeah you're right, how do you think cali is going to be
D: it won't compare to this place
Y/n: yeah you got that right
D: i'm always right
Y/n: shut up and get in the car

i said as i opened the door, we both sat in the back.
my aunt started to drive and we were in for the longest ride ever.

me and daniel played rock paper scissors, colored, played hangman, we did all kinds of road trip games you could possibly do.

we were so bored & tired. my aunt suggested us to go to bed if we were so bored, but we both get car sick so this was going to suck for us.

the estimated time from nj to cali is 41 hours, it would probably take us 3-4 days since we'd have to stop for pit stops for my aunt to get rest.

3 days later

i woke up from taps on my face, i opened my eyes slowly and saw daniel.

"Wake up already, come on" he said annoyed.

i got myself up and just mugged him, he just rolled his eyes and motioned me to get our bags. I groaned and tried to lay back down but he pulled my arm causing me to just get up and get out the car.

My aunt was in the apartment with her bags already, unpacking already. I was so exhausted because i slept so long, yk? I stretched and rubbed my eyes, then grabbed my bags out.

"Why are your bags huge" daniel said confused.
"Just shut up and push the door open" i said grumpily.

He looked at me and grinned, i knew he was up to no good. He kicked the door hard instead of pushing it lightly and we heard someone on the other side grunt.
