Chapter 8

It's not the first Panic attack I've had.

They started When my Uncle Ben Died, but as I Grew up I was able to deal with them better and they came much less frequently. Except when I saw Liam on the news, I had mostly gotten it under control.

My breathing starts to return to normal as I focus on Harriet's heartbeat. She continues to rub circles on my back in a pattern. Something familiar. Something constant. Something that helps me calm down.

I lean away from her so I can look her in the eyes. she stares at me, her blue eyes so gentle and comforting. her lips form a gentle smile. "It's okay. You're okay, Paris. Everything is going to be okay. You're safe with me. I promise."That's all she says. "You're safe with me." She doesn't ask me why I'm so upset,

Although she's probably going to ask me later.

"T-Thank you for being here with me, Harriet."

I hear her chuckle as her breath fans my hair. "Of course. Where else do you think I'd be?"

"I'm serious, Harriet."

She tightens her hold on me. "I know." She rests her chin on the top of my head. "But that's what friends are for, right?" I smile.

Friends.

That's what friends are for.

My heart continues to hammer in my rib cage and my breath picks up slightly. I pull away from Her hug.

"I might head home early, Could you tell Ms. Warren I'm Feeling sick," I said, "I'm just going to skip, don't really feel like sitting in class completely soaked," Harriet smiled, "Want to come to mine, I'll try and explain what going on," I said, Yeah sure,

She stands up and offers a hand. I take it and she pulls me to my feet, But even when I'm standing I don't let go.

"May!" I shout. "May! Are you Here?" I search the apartment for her but come up empty. "It safe" I shout signaling That Harriet can come in, "Hungry?" I ask taking a container of cut-up pineapple, "I'm fine" Harriet Sits down opposite the counter, I grab a fork from the Dish-Washer and start shoveling pineapple in my mouth.

"You said you would explain," Harriet said, "Yeah" I sighed with a face full of Pineapple, "Where do I start?" I sighed

"Germany?" Harriet suggested

"Uhh, ok. um, I was In Germany fighting Ironman, Spiderman, and the King of Wakanda, alongside Captain America." I Blurted out.

Harriet's jaw Dropped, She stayed like that for a minute, Then she burst out laughing.

"Ok, So let's say that really did happen, Why would Captain America Choose you, An average everyday high school student" She managed to say through her laughter, "First of all, Ouch, and Second of all because of this." I extended my hand focusing sound at a plate sitting in front of Harriet, My eyes Flashed Purple as The plate started to vibrate, The vibrating got bigger and bigger before it exploded, Harriet Stopped Laughing and slowly looked up at me,

"Wha- How'd you do that?!" She Yelled, I looked down at my feet and took a deep breath in.

"I- I'm so sorry you had to go through that" Harriet said, We were sitting on the couch I had told her everything, Apart from spiderman identity, "Don't be sorry, You didn't do anything wrong," I said wiping a tear away.

"The point is, Liam didn't Kill all those people, Hydra did, and he's still out there and I'm going to find him" I Explained, "What! no, you can't go looking for him, It's way too dangerous" Harriet yelled, "I need  to find him, Harriet, I'm the reason they took us in the first place, If I had just stayed outside they wouldn't have caught us!" I Exclaimed Harriet Put her hands on My Shoulder,

"Paris, we both know that there's no way in hell you would've let Liam go in by himself, Plus you said There are already people out there looking for him," Harriet Reassured me, "You don't actually believe that they are going to just let him be after all that, Tony just said that so I wouldn't freak out! Of course, he's going to turn him in" I Shrieked as if on cue my phone rang.

*Tony Stank*

"Who is it, Is it May?!" Harriet asked, "Nah, it Tony," I said in surprise, I Accepted the call and put my phone to my ear.

Hello?

Hey Kid

Why are you calling me?

It's about your friend Liam

My Eyes Widened "What is it?" Harriet asked

Wha- What about him, Have you found him?!

Yeah, Someone spotted him in Paris, Ironic huh?

What's happening are you going to get him?

Yeah, SHEILD sent some agents to go get him.

Tony, Liam was Trained With The Winter Soldier and he probably has powers of sorts

Yeah I thought so, That why I headed over there now

Now?

Yep Gotta go, Happy's going to pick you up and take you to The Avenger Facility If that's ok?

Yep that's good

*Call ended*

"What Was That?" Harriet asked "They Found Liam" I Replied.

"They What?" Harriet Gasped,

"They found Laim, and Happy is going to pick me up," I said, "You mean us" Harriet Corrected, "No Harriet, I mean me. Liam might not be Liam, all HYDRA needs to do is say his trigger words, and BOOM, He's A crazy Killer with no memory of you or me." I Explained, "Which is more reason for me to come, You said that seeing Steve Roger's face brought The Winter Soldier back so maybe mine will do the same to Liam." Harriet Said Firmly, "After all my Face is very hard to forget," She said with a Smirk.

"Fine, but if anything happens your going straight home" I ordered, "Ok mom," Harriet Smiled.

I wrote on a sticky note, "Going to Harriet's House - Paris"

"Ok, In the Car ride don't Speak to happy, He gets annoyed easily," I Said "Why is his nickname Happy then?" Harriet asked "I don't know" I Responded.

Harriet and I walk down the stairs of the Apartment Building, and we come across a very expensive-looking car.

"Jesus!" I Looked over to see Harriet gaping at the car. I walked up to the car on taped on the driver's window.

Happy Rolled it down, "Hey kid, Get in," he said without looking at me.

"I was going to take my friend Harriet with me, She knows Liam as well," I said,

"Sure, Who's-" Happy Started

"Uncle Harry?" Harriet Whispereds
