Finn rushed to move Jake out of the laser's beam. Blasting one ear of Finn's hat in the process
"Finn, watch out!" Jake yelled, this time saving Finn from being zapped into ashes.
'This is insane!' Thought Finn, his sword blocking the beam.
"Jake, smash it!" The blond yelled, wavering a bit in his form.
"On it," replied Jake, enlarging his fists. He charged at the machinery.
His sword was going to break at this heat. Regretting ever leaving his Demon Blood sword at home, too pumped to try out another sword.
~At Candy Kingdom~
Princess Bubblegum's POV
Where were those two? They should've reported their progress to me by now.
I paced around my lab, whilst Peppermint Butler watched in worry.
"Milady, maybe they just got into another adventure. You know those two, getting sidetracked on their other adventures is not impossible," he suggested.
I sighed. I had considered that possibility as well.
"Without answering the hologram pendant?" I retorted. "Even in a battle, they would still answer it."
I sat down, burying my face into my hands.
"If anything were to happen to them...," I stopped at that train of thought. Such pessimistic thoughts won’t do any good.
"Leave me alone for now, Peppermint Butler," I ordered.
He left, obeying my command.
I shouldn't have given them that mission. I shouldn't have ignored that feeling I had when I gave it to them. I should have given them extra weapons. I...should have gone with them
