those words were on your wrist, when you broke the news to your parents they couldn't take you seriously. but they supported you in finding your soulmate nontheless

you lived in inazuma, the electro region and home to the electro archon. you were gifted an anemo vision at a young age and it made you stand out amongst the other children

some disliked you and some were fascinated by you. you didn't understand why, but it made you happy that the god of freedom acknowledged you.

you are cousins with kamisato ayaka, the so called icy princess of inazuma. despite her icy exterior she's actually a really warm and cheerful person. so when you had told her about your soulmates nickname she stared at you as if she couldn't believe it herself

what kind of nickname is tonedeaf-bard?

you yourself thought it was funny but still insisted on finding whoever it was. ayaka's father had sent out people all across tevyat to look for someone nicknamed tonedeaf-bard.

luckily the people didn't directly ask; "oh, are you nicknamed tonedeaf-bard?" or else you'd be embarrassed for life

after weeks of searching there still wasn't any news of anyone nicknamed that.

you started feeling conscious

"what if they didn't wanna be found?"

"what if they actually weren't real and the world was playing with me?"

so you had set off in search on your own, they didn't seem to want to be the prince searching for the princesss. so you'll be the prince instead and they'll be the princess

you first set off to liyue, the place wasn't much different from inazuma. but it's cozy and warm atmosphere made it kind of different as well.

you had stayed the night and decided to continue your search in the morning.

it was early in the morning and a few merchants and travelers seemed to be about to set off on their journey. you wore your cloak neatly wrapped around you for you didn't wanna attract any attention being part of the royal family in inazuma.

"that tonedeaf-bard better not be drinking till the nights away! or else paimon will give him a taste of my new moves!"

a floating like creature yelled as its companion sighed starting to walk away. the nickname tonedeaf-bard caught your ear and you yelled for the stranger to stop.

"ah! excuse me! are you going to mondstadt!?" you asked the duo as they turned to face you. your clothing looked unique and expensive which made paimon's eyes shine. the white leather cloak around your figure and gold trimmings did make you stand out a bit.

"huh? oh yes you are..?" the blonde boy asked staring at the girl.

"ah..! well I was wondering if i could tag along? the road isn't the safest.." you averted your gaze. yes you knew it was dangerous to follow a stranger around especially someone with some kind of floating creature with it

but if he did try hurting you, you knew how to use a sword like you were taught so it would be a piece of cake.

"hmm? who are you then? how can we trust you?" the floating girl circled you.

"well..im kamisato y/n and..i'm on my way to mondstadt" you mumbled

their eyes went wide as saucers. "the kamisato house!? as in your related to ayaka!?" the tiny girl screamed

"huh? you know my cousin?" you looked them straight in the eye

"aether we have no other choice! if we don't bring her along who knows what ayaka will do to us!?" paimon shrieked tugging at aethers clothing

"ayaka will do what..?" you tilted your head to the side.

"nevermind that! welcome aboard on our journey to mondstadt" paimon gave a weak smile scared to make a mistake

"we're here" aether turned to you, you awed at the city of freedom. it was nothing like liyue or inazuma. it was completely different

"now that we've accompanied you we're off to find that tone deaf bard! see ya!" paimon dragged aether away before you could ask who that tone deaf bard was

you sighed placing a hand on your hip as you started strolling around the city.

you've been walking all around and the sun was setting already. you stood infront of the barbatos statue hands in your hair.

you groaned tugging on your hair. "i haven't made any progress in finding that tone deaf bard yet..!" you sighed placing your backpack down leaning against some pillars to the right of the statue

"what am I gonna do..?" you mumbled pulling your knees to your chest.

"oya? is there something wrong?"

the sudden voice of another person rung in your ears and you looked up and swiftly brought out your sword pointing it at the person.

"wah!"

the person held their arms infront of them in defense and their lyre floated beside them. you stared at the person up and down, it turned out to be a bard in green.

"oh..i apologize" you mumbled sheathing your sword.

"hehe its okay! so what's the matter?" the bard asked not seeming to mind having a sword pointed at him just a moment ago.

"im looking for someone.." you mumbled staring at the stars in the sky. "hmm? could it perhaps be your soulmate?" he asked averting his attention from his lyre to you

"yes I am, but the nickname they are given is rather ridiculous.." you sighed staring at your wrist.

"is that so? i think it's kind of silly if you ask me n/n"

(n/n stands for nickname)
