"Oi!"

You turned around and a smile immediately blossomed in your face. Your best friend, your partner in crime, your classmate, your mischief maker. . .

Your oblivious crush. . .

Is running towards you, his jacket flying behind him as he ran.

"Idiot," You addressed back as Tanaka stopped running once he's on your side. As a gentleman he is, he opened the glass door for you in which you gave a soft smile to him as a thanks.

"So," he said, walking by your side, exiting the school with a small bounce on his steps. "Be my date tonight?"

Your face heats up slightly.

"Eh?"

"There's this carnival I saw on the internet," Tanaka excitedly said, gripping on his bag strap. "You know a big Ferris wheel. . ." He flew his arms around as a hand gesture trying to emphasize how big it is, his eyes shining brightly. "Carnival games," he clapped his hands.

"Food. . ."

His gave you a side-glance and he smiled when you had a dreamy look on your face just the thought of the delicious fast food in there. "And then there's a-"

You cut Tanaka off with a slap on his arm.

"I know what's a carnival, you idiot!" You chuckled.

"I was just explaining, Y/N!" He pouted, rubbing the part where you hit him.

You gave a small 'whatever'.

"Ofcourse! I loved to come with you," you smiled gripping on to your backpack strap, your knuckles turning white, your stomach turning with a tickling feeling just thinking on going on a date with Tanaka.

"I knew you would. . ." Tanaka smiled at you and you smiled back, quickly looking away before you can blush.

He swiftly wrapped his arm around your shoulder, in which you nearly stumble, and gave you a noogie.

"Oiiii!" You try to pry his fingers away from your head. "Tanaka!"

He laughed and lets go, trying to hold back his laughter when he saw the hair mess he made.

You huffed and glared at him as you try to fix your hair while walking.

"Here you go, m'lady," He stopped in-front of your house. Tanaka turned to you, hands deeply shoved inside the pockets of his jacket. He stared at you and you stared a back at him.

You lunged at him, engulfing him in a hug. Your cheek pressed against his chest.

"What's wrong?" Tanaka asked softly, slowly returning the hug back. His arms wrapping around your waist.

"Nothing," you mumbled as you inhaled his manly scent.

You can feel Tanaka smile as he placed his chin on your head. "Well. . . I love you,"

Your eyes began to swell with tears and you fought them back. Those three words gave a jut on your stomach. You wished he meant that 'I love you, be my girlfriend because I can't live without you' but you very well know that what he actually meant is that 'I love you, bestie'. His eyes and heart will always be for Kiyoko.

And never for you.

You sadly smiled.

"I love you too," You said back, wishing he hears the other meaning.
