CHAPTER 4

"Hazel !"

"Hazel !"

It was a familiar voice .

"Come , hazel ."

She instinctively opened her eyes , but there was nothing she could see . For once she thought she went blind .

"Am i dreaming ? But it seems realistic."Thought to herself .

She was standing in the mid of no where . But that voice ! It was coming from a specific direction . She took a step towards it . She could feel her numbed feet and staggered movement.

Someone was calling her , the pain it urged her to keep moving warily in that direction although it was dark — very dark .

There was not even single source of illumination there , so all she could do was to track down that voice which was becoming stronger with every step she was taking towards it . Perhaps she was going the right way .

She didn't know where she was , how did she end up there and who kept calling her name .

" Whos there ? Hello ? "

She could feel her numbed feet and staggered movement but the pain in that voice urged her to keep moving warily in that direction .

"Come hazel , its me !"

It was at this moment that she recognized .

"Daddy !"
"Daddy where are you ? Im here ."

She was not wobbling anymore . She was reckless now And then she did what she hadn't to at the very first place . She rushed . She ended up being a firefly being  attracted towards light , getting thoughtlessly towards it whether it be a light of hope or the fire to burn it down .

It was a long straight passageway, no turns , no hurdles .  Atleast it seemed to be .

"Daddy ! You there ? I know its you . "

There was no response and the mere thought of losing her only hope to see her father after two years brought tears in her eyes . Those two years seemed an eternity to her .

Soon she saw a faint luminescence coming from the left side of hallway . She tracked  it and after a minute or two saw a candle placed on a table , its radiance barely covered that big wooden round table She almost ran towards it . She held that candle and turned around to only realise She was standing in the centre of a big hall , with big empty walls made of grey stone . She started observing her surroundings for the first time .  It seemed more like a cell . No window , no door . Four big grey stone walls and nothing .  Wait ! Then where did she enter from a moment back ? There was definitely something off about this place . Kinda maze maybe . She back stepped to get out of that place but there wasn't any exist . she didn't know how she ended up there and now she doesn't know how to get out of there . Or maybe she had been wondering in that same big hall the whole while .
"Where am i ? "

"Mom ! Dad ! Can you hear me ? I'm stuck here" . She shouted at the top of her lungs .

"Run !"
"Run as far as you can , haze ."

Hazel instantly moved to the wall on her right side . She placed her left ear on it . She was right ! Her mother was there . That voice was coming from there .

"Mummy ! You're inside ? Huh ? I can hear you . "

*silence*

"Say something . Please . Say anything . How did you end up here ? Where's daddy ? He called me , i heard him ."
After a few moments of silence ,

"He will kill you ."
"He will kill us all . Go away . Very far away . Those people are not us , they are monsters . They ...... they know about your existence but as long as you are not in their hands , they won't hurt us ."
