" Damn, you didn't get anything *again* this year?" Porco asked looking over a resting Pieck's shoulder as she read her book, The Great Titan War.
"No, but I have other things to worry about, Pock." Pieck replied with a soft smile and sleepy eyes.
The day was Valentine's Day and Pieck showed no emotion to the holiday like the others. It was just a regular, tiring day at Marley High-School to her.
" Come on Pieck! Every year you don't get gifts or appreciation for what you do! The only chocolates you get are from me and Zeke! And Zeke's not even in HIGH SCHOOL ANYMORE!" Porco roared.
" Pock, lower your voice.." Pieck replied putting her hand in a 'lower it down' motion, still looking at her book.
" Still! You need some excitement in your life besides grades and survival." He continued. " You're letting this war get you down, Pieck. We took training on it, we're gonna be okay."
" Pock, I didn't do so well on the training and I'm not letting this war get me down!"
He is right though, I do need some spice in my life. Not just that, I am letting that failure get to my head. Pieck realized. No, excitement is overrated, once I get excited and do dangerous things I'll have to start from the very bottom like last ti-
" What can I do to spice my life a little, then?" Pieck asked before her thoughts could control her, closing her book.
" Let's explore this abandoned building! That seems like something to pump your adrenaline!" Porco replied with a smirk. He knew Pieck didn't believe in ghosts. That's clever, Pock. But I'm not stupid.
" Fine, how about 7pm on the dot" she agreed, getting up and pushing her chair back in its place. "Alright! Bye Pieck!" He teased, walking away from Pieck as she went her own direction.

" Papa, I'm home." Pieck called out, closing and locking the front door of her house.
" Oh my angel! Did you get everything you needed at the store?" Her father coughed.
" Yes Papa, I know you said I mustn't get anything for you but I needed to get all the medication you need to get better!" Pieck cried.
" Pieck... all of this costed $40" her father gasped.
" You shouldn't use the money on your paycheck like this!"
" Papa! You need all of this to stay healthy and not get even worse than you are now! Not to mention the damage of the war." She argued. Her father, still gazing at the pharmacy bag, smiled at his daughter.
" Thank you" he croaked out. Pieck smiled as she remembered her plans with Porco.
" Papa?"
" Yes, Pieck?" Pieck sighed, " Can I hang out with Porco? Tonight..? We're just gonna drive around in his car." Her father kept quiet for a while, causing Pieck to grow nervous.
" Papa..?"
"Don't do anything bad with this 'Porco' guy. I'm trusting you to be home by ten." Her eyes widened. She smiled, " Thank you, Papa."

~Another time skip~

" Alright, we're here." Porco said parking the car in a parking space.
" Where are we again?" Pieck asked fixing her uniform skirt.
" The old Marley academy from like, decades ago. I think Zeke went here before it closed. Some say-"
" That this place it haunted?" Pieck assumed looking up at the building, " I've heard."
Pieck was well aware of the of the rumors and stories. Some girl died of a freak accident. Supposedly, it was the last straw for the district. For there were a lot of deaths and accidents. To protect their reputation, they closed it down. People say the spirits of the accidents still roam the hallways and classrooms. The place has 3 floors. Pieck and Porco walked inside the place and all the lockers flew open. Porco flinched and Pieck yawned, she was well, amused.
Now thinking about it, this place looks like a good place that made people feel welcome. It had a good aura.  I wonder what happened.. Pieck thought walking inside the art room.
" AAAAA!" A female voice screeched. Pieck turned around and saw Porco running to her.
" Pock?"
" That Mona Lisa was fucking staring at me with a c-creepy ass smile!"
" Stop lying to yourself, Pock! The Mona Lisa ISN'T smiling! It can't anyways, it's a painting!" She scolded walking towards the painting.
" I'm not lying! You're just blind! G-get some damn glasses!" Porco said holding onto Pieck's arm.
" H-hey!! Let go! If you wrinkle this, you're definitely paying for the dry cleaning!" Pieck said trying to pry Porco off her arm.
" YOU'RE THE SACRIFICE."
" I'M THE WHAT?!" Pieck squirmed

...

The two walked to the second floor stairs, Porco was still holding onto Pieck's arm, I guess he was gonna pay the dry cleaning bill.
Porco gasped, " What is it now?" Pieck asked looking around the hallways.
" A honorary marleyan isn't supposed to be scared of air."
" PIECK YOU DON'T GET IT! THERE IS SOME FREAKY FACES IN THESE DAMN HALLWAYS!"
" You get scared easily." Pieck teased, patting Porco's head with a smile. They were in-front of one of the big windows. Porco let go of Pieck's arm and walked in-front of Pieck.
" F-fine then, l-let's go to the p-p-place where the m-most ghost sightings a-are." He challenged with a stutter. Pieck nodded her head and followed her cold friend. I'm so glad I brought a jacket, but my legs are cold.
" The girls bathroom? Seriously Pock?" Pieck yawned.
" Oh Piecky, It's a place where a student died of a-"
" Major accident?  I know this, Pock!" Pieck walked into the second floors girls bathroom, calmly. HA! This will show Pieck that ghosts are real! I bet! Porco thought with a determined smirk.
Pock is yelling a lot.. Pieck thought, surprised.
Pieck opened the first stall. Nothing.  Then she opened the second stall. Nothing again. As Pieck got to the next stall, she got the chills of the third stall. That's definitely not normal. Pieck thought opening the stalls door. Nothing. Pieck let out a sigh on relief, " I was scared there would be a dead body or something. Haha it's just a toilet. That's not scary!" That chill Pieck felt earlier came back to her. She felt something touch her shoulder.
" Do you want this stall to be scary?"
Pieck's eyes widened as she let out a petrified gasp.
" I mean, you can tell me if you wanna be scared!"
" AAAAA!" Pieck screamed. She quickly turned around and punched what she thought was a creep with a soft, nice voice. Instead she punched air. Pieck blushed out of embarrassment. She opened her eyes to see a figure of a person in a old uniform, they started to laugh.
" Pieck! Are you ok?!" Porco shouted, running inside the bathrooms. He saw the reflection of the figure in-front of Pieck while Pieck's arm was still out in a punching position. He ran to Pieck and grabbed her arm that was still out, pulling her away from the see-through person.
" Are you ok?" Porco asked running down the stairs second floor stairs.
" Y-yeah.." Pieck replied, following Porco down the stairs.
" Now you believe me about ghosts being real, huh?" Porco panted with a laugh. He slammed the front door open and they made their way to the car. Porco falls on his knees while Pieck falls down.
"Weirdest.... Valentines...Day...ever.." Pieck gasps.
" Are you glad you finally got some excitement going on in your life?" Porco asked, breathlessly. " Y-yeah...I...guess.."
