Finding Fairy tails

"Rose! Rose!" Red yelled at me.

"Yes!" I snapped up looking around.

"Where you wondering about your fairytale again?" She asked.

I rolled my eyes, "no." Maybe I was wondering about my fairytale. Everyone in the village already had theirs. Red was just bring cookies to grandmas house when Wolf attacked her. Then bam she became a fairytale. Wolf wasn't even doing anything bad, he was just joking around.

I've always wondered what mine would be like. Would I be rescued by a charming prince, would I be remembered for being heroic, or would I go on a huge adventure? All of the possibilities were endless. "Can you take the cookies this time to grandmas? I don't want Wolf messing around again." She handed me a basket steam still floating out of the top.

I just nodded and took the basket. I always envied Reds looks, her sleek black hair, beautiful green eyes, and her full lips. In the books she was portrayed as a little girl but she was almost in her mid-twentys. I was anything but beautiful with my pale skin and squinty eyes no prince would ever come rescue me.

I headed out the door to the hustle and bustle of the town. "Hey Rose!" My friend Peter called while flying down the street, "sorry! Excuse me!" He kept calling out to people until he landed right in front of me, "so how are things this fine morning?" He gave me a fake bow.

"Oh fine." I laughed giving him a small curtesy.

"Taking cookies to Grandma?" He asked peeking in the basket, "shall we?" Peter offered his arm to me.

"Not today Peter." I said. Normally I loved flying but today I was going to find my fairytale.

"Ah. So today is the day, my little baby friend is going to go out and find her fairytale! I'm so proud!" He said while wiping away fake tears.

"Stop it! My case isn't as easy as you, Mr. I never want to grow up!" I playfully shoved him, "I'll see you later ok?"

He waves then he's in the air again and flying down the street. I walk through the village, down to the path that lead to the Dark Forest. I start down the dark and ominous road, I've always wondered why Grandma choose to live in here. When I asked her she said she liked the privacy. I was lot in my own thoughts when I heard a voice cry out, "watch out!" I flung myself to the side of the path getting mud all over me.

"Are you alright?" A man stood above me riding a black mare, prancing nervously.

"I was until you practically ran over me!" I said getting up trying to get the mud off of me but only succeeding in making it worse.

"Well I'm glad you are okay." The man took down the hood he had been wearing. Now I could see he was only a boy probably my age. He had blonde hair and pale green eyes. I couldn't stop staring he was like the sun, "What is a beautiful lady like you doing out in the middle of this dangerous forest?"

When he spoke that snapped me out of my thoughts, "I'm bring cookies to Grandmas house. I must be on my way she get very impatient sometimes."

"Not so fast." He said moving his horse in front of me, "it's not very prince like of me to let you go on your way without offering you a ride. It is my goal in life to see how many young ladies I can rescue and you seem in need of one."

"I was perfectly fine until you almost killed me with your horse! So I will be on my way now!" I started to stomp away angrily. I made it almost to Grandmas house when I heard the soft trotting of hooves behind me, "why are you still here?"

"I'm just following you making sure you are okay and aren't a dim witted girl just waiting to get eaten by a wolf." Then he trotted right beside me.

I didn't say anything but just let him follow me all the way to Grandmas house. "Well thanks no thanks for following me all the way here I'll be in my way now."

"Hey wait!" He commanded but I didn't turn around, "I'm sorry I didn't get your name!"

"It's Rose!" I said without turning around and the walked into grandmas house. As I walked in I smelled fresh bread and cookies being made even though she doesn't bake. "Hello Grandma." I said peaking around the corner.

"Hello Rose." Grandma said as she was examining her cross bow.

"Red baked you some cookies." I set the basket down on the table and then came to sit by her.

"Oh Red's to sweet for her own good. Glad you came instead of her though, I didn't want to shoot Wolf again. That was a pain to explain to the fairy counsel." She set down the cross bow on the mantel above the fire place and sat back down in her rocking chair. "Well talk to me. You look like you have something on your mind."

I nodded and started, "well as you know I'm trying to find my fairytale.
