"When will I be able to leave?" I asked my nurse, watching as she made her way around the room to perform menial tasks.

"Perhaps tomorrow. We only want to make sure you're okay."

I turned my attention to the window, watching the evening sky become splashed with yellow, orange and pink as the sun fell below the horizon.

"I want the discharge papers now."

She flinched slightly at the intensity of my voice.

"But-" she tried weakly.

I turned my head slowly to stare at her, my eyebrow arched in question to her objection.

She gave me a curt nod before making her way out of the room.

I felt nervous, a bit on edge since my first visitor. I couldn't stay here. Not anymore.

I looked up to see a man with light brown hair and hazel green eyes.

Nikki...

My heart was instantly gripped with a confusing sort of fear.

"Nikki" I forced out in a strained whisper.

He smirked, his bangs falling in front of his eyes.

"I see you've survived... Quite disappointing actually."

My heart was thumping inside my throat as he walked farther into the room, placing careful and precise footsteps that echoed slightly.

"What? What do you mean?"

Nikki sigh in an exasperated way, "You don't remember?"

"No..." I answered cautiously.

His eyes fell upon my discarded piece of bread before glancing down at the quarter full trash can.

"Have you eaten yet?"

"Yes."

"And?"

He stared at me curiously, an eyebrow raised. I shook my head, my muscles tensed in case I need to defend myself.

A wild grin spread across his face, giving me a very uneasy feeling.

"Then it's worked..."

"What's worked? Nikki, what are you talking about?"

His crazed eyes locked onto mine for a moment before he turned and walked to the door.

"Let's just say that it wasn't just a ghoul that attacked you..."

He placed a hand on the doorframe and turned to me briefly, his words evoking goosebumps.

"It was me."
