It was all there was. Hazel. Hazel everywhere. Everywhere she turned.
It seemed to follow her; this brilliant shade of hazel with golden specks. It glinted and twinkled like the stars in the night sky. A beautiful starry sky.
She felt it following her, but she didn't mind that. Not one bit. Infact, she was quite mesmerized by it. That hue of hazel, so captivating that it was hard not to stare back; stare back at those beautiful orbs of hazel speckled with gold. Swimming in a sky of fluffy white clouds, deceivingly lovely.
She followed those hazel beauties. She couldn't take her eyes off of them. She gasped as she felt those wonderful, wonderful orbs land on her own green ones after what felt like an excruciatingly long minute and a half. His hazel orbs, those beautiful eyes, were finally on her emerald ones. Nonchalant glances from those hazel eyes have haunted her for the past few weeks. Whenever she had caught him looking, he had turned away; oblivious to her intention of forever getting lost in those gorgeous pools of brightness. She had had a few moments of success with catching those eyes twinkling with mischief or shining with mirth as he talked to his friends. But never had she felt him stare back at her after getting caught for his insistent gawking.
Never before but now.
Right now.
He was staring at her with his hazel eyes swimming in disbelief. Why disbelief, she didn't have a clue as she had always loved those eyes following her around.
She was staring back and her poor brain, who wanted to stop her staring and think logically, had no say in that matter as her optic sensory nerves had other ideas. Her heart, on the other hand, sent out special love to her eyes to keep them from blinking.
She couldn't blink nor could she turn away. She was lost. Lost in his eyes. Her heart falling so hard for those eyes. As she kept staring at him, she could see that his eyes now held a different emotion: amusement. She scrunched her eyebrows at that. Had she missed something?
Seeing her look of confusion, he let out a laugh. She caught his little laugh wrinkles. She lost her mind at the moment. Her heart fell to the bottom of the ribcage and bounced up to her throat, beating so hard. She couldn't help it, she let out a soft breathy moan. When she realized what she had done, she broke their magical eye contact and looked down in embarrassment.
He watched those brilliant emerald eyes widening. He saw those emerald eyes. He saw those emerald eyes looking at him. He stared back. He caught her and she caught him. They were at each other's mercy. But where's mercy when there's nothing to fear. He loved those energetic, kind eyes and he was gonna look at them all he want. Oh, and he wanted to. He wanted to look into those eyes everyday. For the rest of his life. He couldn't bear to miss glancing at those eyes every chance he got. The only thing he couldn't comprehend was that she was looking back at him. She was chancing a glance at him. He shook his head in disbelief, but he could literally see her staring at him. And so he stared back because he could.
He could watch her mind and heart conflicting. He could see emotions flit through her face. Her face was an open book and her eyes were the doors to her soul. Oh how he loved those eyes!
Her eyes had now taken on a look of confusion and the way her face had scrunched up had him bubbling with harmless mirth over his emerald eyed girl.
He let out a short laugh. He could see that it affected her, but never had he imagined that he could affect her so. She had gasped and he couldn't keep the grin of his face. He had made her feel something. Towards him. His grin was pulled down at the sides into a frown cuz she had, at that exact moment, chosen to break the eye contact.
She was red with embarrassment.
He felt pukey in confusion.
She bit her lip to stop from whimpering at the loss of those hazel orbs.
He pulled his hair in frustration at having lost whatever they had for the few moments.
She decided to flit.
He moved towards her.
She needed to get away and die from embarrassment.
He needed to have those eyes on him again.
She turned around, keeping her head down. Discreetly, not so discreetly, trying to sneak out from under his gaze.
He was a foot behind her as she tried to move away from there.
She was almost successful in trying to walk away.
He was almost successful in calling her name.
And then, she had turned for one last glance.
And then, he met those brilliantly beautiful eyes with her name on his lips.
She couldn't not stare. He couldn't not gape.
Getting lost in each other's eyes, they stood. She sighed looking at those beautiful hazel orbs. And he tried to stop from being mesmerized by her emerald fire eyes.
When he wouldn't stop gaping, she brought up her hand to close his mouth with a push to his chin.
When she tried to take her hand away, he held onto her.
She smiled mischievously. He laughed at her expression.
She tried to pull away from his hold playfully, only to be pulled flush onto his body.
She had never felt better and neither had he.
