NAGISA'S POV

"Karma, Karma." I shouted while knocking on the door. Only the wind responded to my constant bellowing. Being ignored by Karma, my heart started to wince.

"Karma, I know you're ignoring me, but I just wanted to let you know I have to go somewhere. I'll be back later tonight."

KARMA'S POV

In hopes of getting these unnecessary thoughts out of my head, I went to the job location to explore beforehand. We were tasked to inspect the area and to identify any suspicious drug activity.

Although I planned to escape from my thoughts, they wouldn't leave me. On the contrary, arriving early allowed me to sort out my thoughts. That was until someone from behind struck me.

"What the heck!" I did a swift turn and was about to kick the assailant with the heel of my shoe, but I quickly stopped. As there was nowhere to release the momentum of my spin, my bottom hit the ground hard.

"Haha...I got you good." Nagisa burst out laughing, which made me glad he was back to his original self.

"You little..." I jumped onto Blue Mask and tackled him on the ground. "Is that how you treat your future lover?"

With the mask shielding my face, nothing deterred me from doing anything I wanted. I rubbed Nagisa's head and kissed the forehead of his mask: "Just wait for me."

'Wait till I'm ready.'

Nagisa disgustedly and aggressively wiped the area of the mask I kissed. As I thought, he doesn't like me, probably because I'm a male. Using the identity advantage I had, I used the opportunity to question his dilemma.

"So repulsed just by one kiss. Don't tell me that there's actually someone you like?"

In response, Nagisa dispiritedly casted his eyes downward. Taking his silence as a confirmation, I was about to snap those fragile necks of the humans I saw on the street, but he responded before I could do so. "They probably don't think the same about me."

I felt relieved, yet angry. Luckily, the targets that were suspicious of illegal drug trafficking appeared in my vision, otherwise some innocent civilians might have been harmed.

Filled with rage, I charged at the targets, only to be stopped by the one next to me. He gripped my hands tightly to ensure I wouldn't act recklessly.

"What are you doing? They're only suspicious, we haven't even confirmed anything yet." Nagisa rebuked my actions, which cheered me up a little. At least it showed he paid some attention to me.

"Whatever you say. What should we do then?" I asked while clutching his hands.

"Just watch," Nagisa answered, but then he saw movement. "Quick, we have to follow." He tried to jump onto the roof of the adjacent house, the next hiding location, when he noticed an extra weight holding him back.

"Red Mask...I can't move." He tried escaping from my hold, a futile effort.

"What happened?"

"I'm trapped."

"Are your legs giving out?"

"No, they're..." Before letting Nagisa finish, I moved my fingers, which were holding his hand, and wrapped it around his shoulder. With my free hand, I wrapped my other arm around his thigh. Lifting him up, I jumped on the rooftop to continue tailing the targets.

"If you were having trouble, you should've said so earlier."

"I really wasn't..."

"Preserve your energy."

"Uhh...Red Mask. This is kind of embarrassing." Nagisa kept squirming within my arms. It was rather cute. Eventually, Nagisa surrendered himself to me and decided to relax peacefully against my chest.

It was a blissful moment, until they had to do it: Had to make us do our job. Entering the desolate warehouse, they pretty much confirmed themselves as drug traffickers. Why couldn't they just act innocently?

"Red Mask, Come on. We have to go."

"One more minute?"

"They'll be long gone by then."

"But..." I dejectedly let Nagisa down. "Just wait." I mumbled

NAGISA'S POV

Something was wrong with Red Mask today. He has been acting a bit more intimate than usual and his occasional mumbling sounded dangerously sweet. I could feel myself slowly getting tempted by him. The more he showed that side of himself, the more he resembled Karma. An impossible comparison, after all, he hated me now.

Invading the warehouse, we saw crates stacked upon crates. In the middle of them all were the traffickers who seemed to be conversing among themselves.

"Let's see the amount of money we'll rake in this time."

"With our current sales, it's going to be the highest yet."

"Soon, everyone will be addicted," one of the traffickers exclaimed. "We'll be bathing in money!"

Their detestable behavior angered me and I couldn't hold back any longer. I unhooked a knife off the strap of my pants and spinned it around my hand until it was in the perfect position. Feeling my presence being watched, I quickly mounted a defensive posture in that direction, which I regretted instantly. It was just Red Mask staring at me.

"Stop fooling around, we have work to accomplish." I whispered into his ears, lest the people in front heard us.

"I can't hear you, can you repeat." Red Mask replied while pointing to his ears.

How could he act so casual during a mission. Fed up with his demeanor, I chose to ignore him, but his intense gaze continued to linger onto me. I used my hands to shoo him away, an action he completely disregarded.

"Blue Mask, do you not want me anymore?"

"When did you become mine!?" I snorted back at him.

"See I knew it, I did something wrong." Red Mask proceeded to cling onto me. I then felt a soft tingling on my ear, "Please, don't hate me ok?"

"Let go of me! This isn't the time for this!"

Fearing that the targets would get away while we were distracted, I shifted my gaze from Red Mask to the other people in the warehouse, only to be stunned in place. They were staring right at us.

"Run. We've been found!" One of the men called out to the other.

"It's just a lovers quarrel, no need to be so serious." The other man responded, before waving to us. "You guys can continue."

"Can't you see how suspicious they look?"

"All is forgiven in the process of love."

In response, Red Mask smirked and faced me. "Wife, why are you doing this? I thought you loved me too."

I stealthily hid the knife from their view and glared at Red Mask. He was making use of the situation to tease me. Raising my hand, I really wanted to hit him hard; but, I quickly restrained myself as that would make us more suspicious. With no other choice than to play with his antics, I swore I would slowly torture him later.

"Don't even start with me. I saw you playing around with other girls," I declared while running to the man who seemed to be devoted to love. "Help me please, I just want to be free from that ungrateful man."

Within the safe embrace of the man, I looked up and saw fumes erupting from Red Mask. He was seriously enraged this time. I felt my heart constrict with his terrifying gaze. My guilty conscience made me unable to look any longer. I don't know where the guilt came from, but it hurt, quite a lot.
