Mama Wolf

Ruka

It was a full moon. The white light reflecting off of the moons surface illuminated the tear streaks flowing down the pale cheeks of a certain vampire aristocrat. She trembled as she grabbed the remainder of her gorgeous hair that still remained attached to her scalp. It was mostly silent as a lone wolf howled in the back ground and the whimpers still coming from the young vampire.

Zero's P.O.V

I was in my wolf form. Ever since I drank from Ichiru I've been stable, I can be myself again. My silver, almost white, fur seemed to glow under the moon's light. I ran through the forest back towards the academy, feeling the earth beneath my paws then all of that comes to a sudden stop. I sensed a vampire, they shouldn't be out right now, they should all be in their dorms. My annoyance was short lived as I felt something else come from the same vicinity. I quietly walk over to where I sensed the vampire before reverting back into my human form.

I hid behind a tree, quietly observing the distressed aristocrat. The once prideful visage was gone replaced with a crying girl who he could feel was severely distressed. Instead of her long flowing hair that reached just below her butt, she now had uneven short hair that varied at lengths around her shoulders. Very carefully, I approached the female, she didn't seem to notice me at all, trapped inside her own world of sorrow. I kneeled down infront of her, still nothing. I saw how red and puffy her eyes were and how the tear streaks still feel down as if they were miniature waterfalls.

I reached out my hands and tenderly cupped her cheeks, at the feeling of being touched she immediately was brought out her thoughts. Before she could respond I ever so gently wiped away her tears with the pads of my thumbs. "Ruka, what happened?" I ask with worry in my voice and my emotions reflected in my eyes. She didn't respond, instead she threw herself into my chest and started crying once again. I carefully wrapped my arms around her and gave her a comforting hug, slowly rubbing her back to calm her down. Eventually I feel her go limp against me and I look down to see that she had lost consciousness.

I sigh in slight annoyance but nonetheless pick up the girl and walk back to the prefect house. As soon as I enter I see Sayori half asleep on the couch. Before Yori could ask anything, I take Ruka to one of the guest rooms and tucks her into the soft sheets of the bed. I softly stroke her head a few times before I go back to the living room and confront Yori.

"So what happened?" She asked tiredly.

I shrugged my shoulders and sigh before I answer her. "I don't know. But it definitely has something to do with her hair." I replied honestly. I then proceeded to tell Yori about how I had found Ruka and that she was crying. Sayori accepted this answer and gave soft smile.
"You're so caring Z. Even if you don't let others see it. You have a heart of gold." She said before yawning.
"Go to bed Yori. We have an exam tomorrow." I said and she nodded before going to her room and going to sleep.

I sat on the couch for a while before I felt my eyelids start to droop. I lied back to the couch, letting my body relax from the stress of the day. A few hours later, I woke up to my body's natural body clock. I sighed and checked the time. It's still pretty early. I go to the kitchen to prepared a meal for vampire in the spare room. I put everything on a tray before adding a glass filled with dissolved blood tablets with just a drop of my own blood.

Usually Hunter blood is toxic to vampires, like a defence mechanism of sorts (which is why Shizuka had to go MIA for a few years. She drained from two adult hunters and one Hunter in training. She basically gave herself severe food poisoning, if she wasn't a pureblood then it would have killed her.) but if that Hunter allows the vampire to drink their blood then it can be the best thing in the world to them. It tastes good and it heals and is filled with nourishment.
