Bad stepped outside, his whole body tensing when he was faced with another demon. He took a deep breath, letting his demon wings pop out from under his jacket.

He spread them, trying to seem more intimidating. "What are you doing here?"

The other demon let out a low chuckle, "The famous Badboyhalo, I should ask what you're doing here!"

"I'm..." Bad glanced around quickly, trying to come up with an excuse, but the demon cut him off.

"Hanging around humans?"

"Well... yeah."

Dream could just barely hear their voices, inching closer to the window, he listened closely.

Still, he could barely make out anything until Bad raised his voice. What Dream heard sent chills throughout his body.

"The humans are mine to take care of."

Dream didn't know what that meant, but he couldn't help but believe that it wasn't good. Take care of? What does that mean?

"Oh of course they are." The other demon laughed at Bad, "Just because you're soooo powerful."

"Back off."

"Okay, okay. I'll leave you alone, Mr. Halo." The demon raised his hands in defence, "But I don't know about the others."

"The others?"

"You're dense if you think your little spell didn't just alert me, Bad."

Bad stared up at the sky, sure enough there was a swarm of demons out of nowhere, all of them staring at him. His jaw dropped, but no sound came out. His mouth was dry.

He stepped back, he'd have to get his friends somewhere safe before someone else got to them.

With a small cry of fear, Bad ran inside.

"You guys we have to go, now!" He said quickly.

George, Sapnap and Dream all turned to look at Bad, each of them wearing a different expression.

"Come on." Bad gestures for them to follow him, "Please, I don't want anything happening to you because of me!"

"Bad, what's going on?" George asked.

"I will explain later when we're in a safer place."

Dream sighed in defeat, still unsure about his thoughts on Bad in that moment. "I think I know a place."

Bad nodded quickly, "Good, good! They won't get you if I'm there so stay close, Dream, lead the way."

Dream sprung to his feet, leading the other three out the back door, occasionally he'd look back to make sure they were following.

Bad ran behind them, being a look out.

The running was starting to become unbearable, specifically George and Sapnap growing tired and out of breath.

"Can we stop?" Sapnap asked, his breathing heavy, "My chest hurts."

Dream came to a halt, staring back at his friends. George had fallen to his knees, he leaned back, against a rock.

Sapnap had sat down beside George, trying to catch his breath, a hand rested on his chest. "Holy shit." He wheezed.

"Are you guys okay?" Bad asked, fixing his glasses, and then the jacket he wore. "No one got hurt, right?"

George and Sapnap both nodded assuringly, not responding.

Finally, Sapnap caught his breath enough to speak again, "What is this place?"

"It's not well hidden," Dream began, "but it's far enough we should be safe for a while."

"That didn't answer my question."

"This is a place I used to come to. To cool down." He sat down at what used to be the fire pit. The arrows were still driven into the ground.

"It's so far away- why would you decide this is a good place?" George asked with a tilt of his head.

Dream laughed, "I never claimed to be smart, I was just looking for the perfect place to stay."

Sapnap scooted over, examining the area. "Huh."

"What?"

"I dunno." Sapnap shrugged before going back over to George, "This place is nice."

"Do you recognize it?"

"Not really. It gives me that.. nostalgic feeling but I've never seen it."

Dream frowned before glancing away—he could clearly remember bringing Sapnap here, it was nice. Before everything went wrong.

Bad came to join the other three, "I'm sorry, I didn't realize that one simple mistake would've alerted so many..."

Dream watched Bad with uncertainty, the demon was playing around with the sticks he picked out of the fire pit.

"We can fix this," the demon smiled, "don't worry. Everything will be back to normal before you know it!"

George and Sapnap let out a cheer, a naive 'hooray!'

Dream just flashed Bad a smile, but he was still unsure about the demon. After everything he heard, saw, the things he doesn't know... He doesn't know what he's supposed to think.
