Sorry it took me so long I got hit by a semi truck

Anyway, I'm planning on starting the sequel to I've Lost My Way, and I might call it The Path is Twisting

Short chapter but I swear things are getting spicy soon

The sun had long gone down, Sapnap and George had both fallen asleep, both shivering so Bad covered them with his cloak, tucking them in while humming.

Dream watched them, sitting with his back against a rock, his eyes followed Bad as the demon worked to restart the fire.

"It's chilly," Bad said, "can you feel it?"

Dream shook his head, "Not very well." He said with a sigh. "Kinda hard to, right?"

"I guess so." The demon nodded with a flick of his tail, "How are you doing?"

Dream avoided eye contact, "I don't know honestly, everything's been so confusing." His gaze travelled up to the sky, staring at the stars. "It feels like... some crazy time loop almost. Of course not exactly but..." A shooting star caught his attention, "This isn't the first time Sapnap forgot me, well.. obviously, you were there and... I don't know.. maybe it was just supposed to be that way."

Bad tilted his head, "What do you mean?"

"Well... I don't know, what if these things happened for a reason? Maybe me and him were just... never meant to be." Dream sighed, "Of course I love him, I love him so much, but maybe I shouldn't have put him through all this stress—neither of them. I should've just...left them alone."

Bad frowned, crawling over to Dream on his hands and knees before giving him a big hug. "You might've made a mistake, but I think it's for the greater good. We're going against Celestials Dream! I've been on this earth for thousands of years, having to just deal with their muffiny actions. They're wrong, Dream."

"What about those other demons?" Dream asked, hugging Bad back, "Surely they're a risk to George and Sapnap?"

Bad didn't let go of Dream, making sure he's comforted all the way. "I can deal with them, they're in my world now and they'll be messed up if they ever try and hurt you three."

Dream smiled slightly, letting out a half-hearted laugh as he gently pushed Bad off of him, "Okay... I trust you."

Hearing movement next to them, Dream and Bad looked over to see Sapnap sitting up. He rubbed his eyes with a yawn, "Morning." He glanced between Dream and Bad, "Did you guys not sleep?"

They shook their head, "Demons don't really need sleep." Bad smiled, "And I'm sure ghosts don't either." He assumed and Dream confirmed with a nod.

Sapnap hummed, "Hm... I slept like a baby." He stretched his arms, grunting, "Huh, what a day, huh?"

"Really." Bad agreed, glancing up at the sky, it was staring to get lighter out but the sun hasn't come up yet, but that's not what he was looking for. He squinted his eyes, trying to make out the figures he was seeing, adjusting his glasses, "Oh," he giggled, "just birds. It seems we're safe from the demons."

"Why'd they come after us again?" Sapnap asked.

"I was a little careless, that's my mistake and I apologize." Bad explained quickly, "But I have an idea on what to do to make things normal again, you're just going to have to trust me."

"And what's that?" Dream tilted his head, Sapnap nodding, also curious.

"Well, we're going to have to visit the place where the celestials live, I think that's our goal."

"How do we do that? Where is it and what is it?" Dream continued asking questions.

Bad smiled, "I'll worry about that, you three just need to worry about mentally preparing yourselves. It's a dangerous place for demons, stay too long and all our energy would be sapped away and well... we die, basically."

Dream and Sapnap stared at Bad with wide eyes, "Is this safe?"

"Don't worry, I can make sure I'll be okay and with you every step of the way, humans shouldn't be affected. Anyway, I think we should get you and George something to eat, Sapnap. I don't want to hear any complaining about being hungry." He said with a laugh, standing up and walking away to find food.

Sapnap grinned, watching Bad go, "Aw yeah, food. Do ghosts need to eat?" Sapnap asked Dream, who sighed sadly.

"No." He frowned, pretending to sound upset.

Staring at Dream for a few seconds, Sapnap laughed, "More for me!"

"What???" Dream gasped before he started laughing. "Wow, so unexpected."

"I'm a growing boy!"

The two laughed with each other, eventually having to cover their mouths when hearing George sleepily complain about them being too loud. They met each others eyes, still trying not to laugh to avoid George's wrath. But, being the children that they are (not literally, of course) one small noise sent them into a fit of laughter once again. Already, things started to seem closer to normal to Dream.
