9: How Did I Do?

I yawned as I glanced at my wristwatch. It's still an hour before we get dismissed. Why is the time moving so slow?! I can't wait for school to be over!

It's Tuesday today, and this week is the Inter-high preliminaries. I was supposed to go to one of the volleyball matches of Nekoma yesterday, but I wasn't able to go because I was too scared to go alone.

Not today, though. I already devised the perfect plan so that I could watch Nekoma's boys volleyball team play in an actual match without being seen our caught by someone I know.

Our whole class decided to go to a karaoke place today to have a class bonding, but I told our class representative that I wouldn't be able to go because of an "important matter", which is just to go watch Tetsurou play.

The way I'm jumping through hoops just to go see Kuroo Tetsurou play volleyball is just unbelievable.

My perfect plan goes like this:
1.) Go home immediately when the class is dismissed at 12 PM. When I get home, change into super casual clothes.

2.) Wear makeup. I usually do not wear heavy makeup, just lipgloss and some powder. But today is a special day. I have to wear heavy makeup as part of my disguise.

3.) Take the safest way where I wouldn't bump into anybody I know. This way, I wouldn't get caught going to the arena.

4.) Do not sit on the side of Nekoma cheering team. Instead, I should sit on the middle bleachers, this way I could pass as just some random stranger watching a match.

I glanced at my wristwatch again, only to see that just a minute has passed. Ugh. Time moves slower when you're bored.

I looked at the empty seat to my left, where Tetsurou usually sits. I felt a pain in my chest when I realized that I wouldn't be able to sit beside him for the rest of the week since he's excused.

Because I can't stop thinking about that stupid jerk, I forgot to pass the special requirements to Hayato-sensei last Friday. Good thing Hayato-sensei was considerate enough to accept it yesterday, even though I received minus points for passing it late.

I sighed as I listened to my Physics teacher ramble on about free fall.

Free falling. I feel that way when Tetsurou does something to me. Like I'm falling without any safety precaution.

I hope the school bell rings already.

Finally, the school bell signaled dismissal as I started to hurriedly fix my bag. I could hear my classmates talk excitedly about going to the karaoke place as a class, but I couldn't relate since I'm not going. I've got other important plans.

I was about to turn around to tell Mei to enjoy and take care going to the karaoke when Sato, our class representative, greeted me instead.

"Miura, can't you really come with us? Almost all of us are going, besides it's just for today," Sato said with a hand on my shoulder.

I smiled shyly. Going to the karaoke with my classmates sound great, but there's someone I really want to see already...

"Unfortunately Sato, I really can't. I wish I can skip attending this important matter, but I can't. You guys enjoy though," I said with a little smile as Sato just nodded as he removed his hand on my shoulder.
