I'm now in the kitchen, making food for my visitor, Ella.
We've been friends since grade-school together with Madison's brother, Matt. And we're always hanging out at Matt's house. Madison just never gets to meet Ella since she's always out. Matt and I will pick her up somewhere, leaving Ella at their house and gone once we get back.
"I see Matt's little sis is somewhere else again," Ella speaks behind. She's at the counter top.
"At a party again. That kid is really something." I chortled and shook my head.
"You know I've always wanted to meet her. Like, she's Matt's sister and... I always want a little sister, ya know?" Madison is far away from Ella's existence. Ella's always the sophisticated, independent woman, while Madison is just a... kid. A rebellious kid.
"Sure you guys aren't compatible. You will never get to hang out with that kid," I confidently say.
"You always call her a kid," she says like it doesn't suit Madison to be called a kid.
Yes, our gap with Madison is not that huge, but her behaviour... there's a lot of things she needs to develop.
Ella went back to the living room— silence filling in the kitchen. After just a few minutes I heard Ella shout from the living room, calling me.
"TY! Your phone! Someone's calling!"
I haven't even responded back when she comes back to the kitchen and hands me my phone. She shooed her hands on me, saying she'll take over the cooking so I just let her be and answered the phone call.
It was Sarah and for some reason, she's kinda panicking and seemed like someone's triggering her. I didn't speak and waited for her to talk first. But for a moment I heard Madison's voice.
"Wait, wait. Is that Madison?" I felt anxious suddenly. For another time around, I felt anxious over Madison.
[Exactly why I am calling you! Mads' making a scene! For god's sake, pick her up!]
Right after I got their location, I hung up the call and immediately went out. Ella even insisted on coming over. I didn't want her at first but she got me by saying 'I am also a woman, I know how I'll tame her'.
I can say Madison drank a lot. She goes to drink more often, basically, she's got used to alcohol. Now I wonder why she gets herself like that.
Ella's sitting beside Madison while wiping a wet towel on her, probably to freshen up her. I was standing against the door, watching them. Ella already changed Madison's clothes who's now laying on bed.
"You got a heart for this girl, Ty." Ella speaks not so loud, enough volume for me to hear.
"What heart, El? She's just Matt's sister," I objected. She stops wiping and finally stands up, basically done with Madison.
"Look, Ty. Matt asked you if that's fine. You basically agreed in just one snap. Besides, you have a choice. There's another way for Madison to be taken care of. But you insisted."
"Because it's Matt." I chortle as I get flabbergast.
"It's Madison, Ty."
