Y/n opened her next present, a rectangular box. She opened it, slightly flinching in case it was a trick. Lifting the lid off of the smallish black box, revealed a stick. No, not a stick, a wand.
"Well go on, test it out!" Molly exclaimed, making y/n jump. "Yeah! Give it a flick, make sure it's the right one for you." Fred said.
Y/n make a flicking motion with her wand, and it set the fireplace alight, just as Molly had done when y/n arrived. Y/n gasped. "Wait, I can- I can do magic!"
George passed her a piece of paper, that read:

Magical Menagerie
"Choose one of 'em!" Fred ushered.
"Choose?" Y/n asked with her mouth hanging open, she was delighted to get a choice, which she of course, picked a cat. She'd always wanted one, but her 'father' didn't allow pets. Not that y/n had even asked, she didn't want another beating.
"I-if that's okay I mean.." y/n said quickly.
"Of course it is! Great choice!" Molly declared with a small, sympathetic smile. "Here is everything else you will need for your first year in Hogwarts! Don't get too overwhelmed. I know it's a bit extensive, but we will go shopping today to purchase it all." Molly handed y/n a (long) list of items:
•Uniform
Three Sets of Plain work robes (Black).
One Plain Pointed Hat (Black) for day wear.
One Pair of Protective Gloves (dragon hide or similar).
One Winter Cloak (Black, silver fastenings).
Please note that all student's clothes should carry name-tags at all times.
