*Chapter Two*

"Sutoraiki o Setsudan no Jutsu!" with one burst of my unique jutsu the chakra line are severed.

"Hm," I scoff "child's play."

with that I sprint out of the cavern, determined not to get myself caught by their backup team.

As I run a miniature sand storm appears about three meters in front of me, thease are common in Sunagakure, despite this I know I should be cautious and go around it, in case this is some trick of theirs but as time is not in my favor, I make my first foolish mistake of the day, I decide to run straight through it.

The next thing I am aware of is the hot sand underneath my head, opening my eyes I see the cloudless blue sky slowly sliding away, but my brain helpfully assures me that this is a ludicrous idea, the sky can not move, which would suggest that it is in fact, I , who is moving. I frantically attempt to claw my way forward, but the attempt is both useless and costly, as whatever it is that has hold of my leg tightens every time I try to get away.

Looking down I see a noose of ,almost, red sand wrapping tightly around my ankle, bemused I start tearing at it in a vain attempt to free myself, at which point I hear the sickening crunches of my bones being crushed.

"Release me! You Demon!" I bark, the pain evident in my voice.

"Gaara, um.. you can let her go now. It isn't like she's going anywhere." The boy glanced at me, begging me to agree.

"Clearly I would not get far, at any rate." I agree, grudgingly. The sand tightens mercilessly.

"G-gaara, remember what Baki said? 'She is important, and it is important that she remain undamaged.' remember?" The girl, Temari, attempts to persuade my attacker, who is clearly their leader. I can not see him but I can sense the immense power radiating from a figure somewhere behind me.

The odd thing is, both of them seem far more frightened of this 'Gaara' character then I do, and they are on HIS side.

My eyes dart about, determined to find my attacker, and then my eyes rest upon the small, delicate looking figure of a young boy, he seems harmless and yet despite this I find myself scared senseless by his cold, unblinking gaze and I know that he wouldn't so much as flinch, let alone regret shredding me to pieces slowly, making sure I feel every single last minute of it.

And what is worse, he looks only thirteen at most. What could have gone so wrong? To have turned him into this, I was right to call him 'Demon'.

Slowly, the sand starts to creep up my legs, encasing me in its crushing grip. Before it is able to get past my hips I regain the ability to move.

"Shadodansu no Jutsu!" I practically screech as the pain is now almost overwhelming.

Several tendrils of black smoke shoot out at Gaara, but he effortlessly summons his sand to block my attack after several more similar attacks, I see that the only thing that I have accomplished is to annoy him further.

But I am no fool, and I very rarely do anything for no reason, I have learnt. The sand holding me still and the sand blocking my attacks are stronger, quicker then if he were to use ordinary sand, which I do not dout that he can, It is also limited. As long as I keep him busy, so much so that he requires all of his sand to protect himself, and his companions..

"Shadohariken jutsu!" suddenly all three of them are surrounded in a cloud of razor sharp fog, and to my great delight and satisfaction, the sand releases me in order to protect the three of them.

I sprint, despite my injuries, as fast as I can away from them, each time I land on my left foot shooting pain seers through my entire body working its way up from my ankle.

Tears are racing down my face as I tear open the door of what appears to be an abandoned pub.

Soon after I arrive and tie a splint of old wood- a loose floorboard hat the warehouse clearly didn't need anymore,to my leg, to help the injury set properly, I fall unconscious to the distant calls of my attackers

* ..Wind scythe jutsu!..*

*..Gaara! No! Come back!"...*
