It's okay to be Hurt

*Ring* *Ring* *Ring*

Kim hears her phone ringing next to her bed, she checks to see the caller ID. She gasps "Ron." She says as she picks up the phone and sits up on her bed.

"Hey Ron." She says with a bit of hesitation in her voice.

"Hey Kim" Kim started to get a little upset because he only says Kim when he is worried, upset, or angry. "I know where Draken and Shego are hiding, and I know their plan. I'm on my way over."

"Wait how do you know all of this?"

"I'll explain once I get there, see you in five." Ron hangs up the phone and drives his scooter to the Possible house.

The doorbell rings, and Mister Doctor Possible answers the door.

"Hello there Ronald."

"Morning Mr. Dr. P, is Kim busy?"

"She's in her room I believe."

"All right, thanks." Ron shouts as he waves and heads up the stairs to Kim's room. He looks around for her but he doesn't see her. "Kim you here?" He says loudly in case she is in a different room.

"Yeah, I'm in the bathroom be right out." He sits on the corner of her bed, waiting to see his girlfriend and what he will even say to her. Kim comes out of the bathroom and the two of them just look at each other then quickly look away again. It is awkward for both of them, since this hasn't happened before at least not like this or when they were a couple. Kim notices that Ron is in his mission clothes, but they are dirty as if he didn't wash them from their previous mission.

"Why are you in your mission clothes? Did you wash them from our last mission, they're completely dirty."

"Yeah I washed them, but since I was crawling through tight spaces with dust early this morning when I was at Drakken's layer I guess they kind of got dirty." He says while rubbing the back of his neck. "Anyways so I found out Drakken's plan to—-

Kim interrupts him, "You went on a mission, alone!?"

"It was just a recon mission, plus it was early in the morning, I didn't think Wade needed to wake you up."

"Wade knew about this, and he let you go alone?!" She started to get angry but mostly because she was worried since her boyfriend is not the best fighter.

"Kim it's fine, after all I —-

She interrupts him once again. "No, it's not fine. That was a stupid move Ron. You could have gotten hurt, or captured, or worse. You should have informed me, we would have gone together." She says with worriedness in her voice.

"I'm fine, I got the information and look not a scratch."

"Ron we are a team, how can I trust you if you just go off and do a mission and tell Wade not to tell me!?" She raises her voice

"Well, how can I trust that you won't leave me behind again because I messed up!!?" They both just froze due to Ron's anger and pointing out Kim's mistake. Ron turned his head to hide his face and to catch a breath. 

"Ron I--

"Don't worry about it, right now that isn't important. Stopping Dr. Drakken and Shego is." Ron stated trying to avoid what just happened.

"Okay, so what did you find?"

"I was trying to figure out why Dr. Drakken needed a small power converter especially since it was able to be picked up by hand." 

"Okay?" Kim questioned not knowing what that had to do with anything really. After all, they never really cared about those details before so.

"It's small, but it's changes other devices' power. So I looked up things in our area that had major power readings."

"You did research?" Kim sorta laughed silently to herself but was mostly surprised.

"Yeah, and check it out." Ron walked over to Kim's computer as he continued. "I asked Wade if he found Drakken and Shego, he did and their layer is right where I thought it was."

An article pops up, Kim begins to read. "Military Scientists creates new laser weapons cable of destroying tanks." She looks down at Ron who is sitting in her chair, "So they want a new weapon? Then why steal the power converter then the weapons?"

"Drakken isn't going to take the weapons, he is converting the power built into the weapons and moving them to some suit thing he was making in the layer."

"Why does he want a suit?"

"He's making suits that are stronger, faster, and more dangerous than your battle suit."

"We need to stop him, you said you know where the layer is."

"Yeah, I do."

"Okay great, then we should get ready and ---

"NO!" Wade shouts popping up on Kim's screen, knocking Ron out of Kim's chair because he got scared.

"Oww" Ron states rubbing his head, "Sorry Ron." Wade stated but not too focused on that. "You two can't go!" he exclaimed.

"Why not?" Kim and Ron both asked. "This mission is super dangerous, and the two of you aren't in sink right now."

"What we are fine?" Kim tried to argue.

"Kim the two of you can hardly look at each other at the moment. I won't tell you anything until you two work out your issues."

"But the world needs---

"NO! and that's it." Wade states and hangs up. 

The two of them just stand there in silence and definitely feeling awkward. Kim just crossed her arms and looked at her closet, she didn't want to make eye contact with Ron. She knew they needed to talk, but had no idea what to say. Ron just stood there looking down at the floor, he wasn't even thinking about her leaving him behind right now. All he could think about was how she called out him being a loser basically. It wasn't like he isn't used to being called a loser, and that he didn't know that she thought this deep down. But hearing her actually say it, hurt a lot more than he thought.

They were surrounded by silence, finally she breaks it. "Ron, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have left you behind, that wasn't right and you didn't deserve that. You have always been my partner and you know in more ways than one," Ron shoots his head straight up to look at her. "And I understand that you are upset that I left you there but---

She gets interrupted. "There's a but?" Ron stated with a direct tone while raising an eyebrow. Kim realized that she didn't have a reason for there to be a 'but', she just wanted to make him understand why she acted in that way.

"Do you even know why I'm upset?" He asked in a frosty but soft voice.

"Because I left you and made you find you're own way home." She said delicately, trying to not hurt his feelings again.

"Nope."

"No?" She paused for a moment trying to think of what could have been possibly worse.

"I'm upset because it all the years that we have known each other and were friends, and in a relationship, you never called me a loser." 

"Oh Ron I---

"I knew you thought that before, I also know that I am, but the only thing that helped me keep my head up was the fact that my best friend never said I was one." He paused for a minute to make sure he didn't get too dramatic like he normally does. "That's why I'm hurt, Kim."

"Ron, I was just angry and frustrated that Shego and Drakken got away again. I didn't mean it."

"Yes Kim, you did." he said softly but icy.

She meant it, he knew, and deep down she knew. She wanted to hurt him and that was the best way. And knowing that she purposely wanted to hurt him in that moment started to hurt her. "Ron, I'm sorry." she started to tear up and looked down at the floor.

Ron could see that she was getting upset, so he walked up to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. She looked up at him with tears still in her eyes. "It's okay, don't worry about it." He kissed her forehead, causing Kim to be shocked and mostly confused. He was comforting her? "I'll be back later okay, then we should be ready to go on that mission." He said with a smile then started to walk out of her room. He needed to walk away, if he didn't then Kim would know that he is too hurt to have them argue about it again.
