Aradine Carrow. I bet you never heard of me, huh? That doesn't surprise me. I'm the younger sister of Alecto and Amycus, but unlike my siblings, I'm not evil. I was sorted into Hufflepuff, much to Alecto's disgust. My brother, however. Well. His face was unreadable. It was clear he wasn't happy about it, but what emotion was behind those cold, grey eyes of his? Anger? Humiliation? If only I could tell. I'd made friends quickly, Ted Tonks being my best friend up until my 7th year. We soon parted ways, as he left to marry and start a family, and I wished to travel to the world. But if only I had stayed at home a month longer, for what would come would be a great shock.

--

Amycus Carrow could hear the rain pounding on his window, but he didn't look up.  He couldn't. As if being Hufflepuff and friends with mudbloods wasn't enough, Aradine had ran away to travel. What a traitor. He wouldn't cry, no. He was much too strong for that.  But he had wished that of course, she had chosen to stay. Maybe they could have brought back their sibling bond. Everything they'd had, they'd lost. He just wanted to feel whole again. How could he ever do that with his baby sister gone?

--
If only she'd tried hard enough, if only she had been the sister she had needed. Alecto knew that if Aradine came to any harm, it would be all her fault.  Her room was empty, except a few photos from after her 7th year. All other photos had been lost in the fire, and their parents were gone now; they'd been gone two years, so what stopped her from reaching out to Aradine? Did she just not care? Even as she thought that, she knew that she was wrong. Of COURSE she cared. But why was it so damn hard to show that? Maybe if she hadn't been born into a pureblood family, things would have been different. But, alas, she was, and she couldn't change that.  And perhaps it was too late.
