Love in a Wish

Chapter 1

Heartless...all of you are so cruel...

"I'm going home!"

Mina grabs her bag and dashes out the door, making her way down the hallway outside of Garvey's Karaoke.

"Wait! Mina! Slow down!"

"Why! So you guys could show off your boyfriends in front of me!" Mina shouts as she continues walking down the streets.

"We're sorry! We didn't expect the guys to come as well," Ashley says trying to keep up with her.

"Yeah! We know you're upset and wanted it to be just the three of us. Can you please stop walking so we can apologize properly," Sasha says catching her breath.

Mina stops and turns to her friends. Their makeups were refining and the refreshing scents of their perfume tell a lot. It wasn't gonna be just the three of us. They decided to bring their boyfriends leaving me alone and the fifth wheel.

"Alright, I'm ready to hear your reasons," Mina said abruptly.

Mina's friends gave each other glances until Sasha finally spoke.

"We are sorry. We know we said it would just be the three of us, but Dave and Jake wanted to come too. We tried to make it just us but they said they were only available today, and you know how busy they are."

Mina did understand. Dave and Jake are both good friends and go to Kingston Institution. Dave is well off and usually helps with his Dad's business. Jake is smart and was able to enter through a scholarship program, he also helps out at his parents' restaurant while taking care of his younger siblings. They happen to meet Mina's friends from what her friends would call, fate. But Mina feels fate isn't real.

Mina sighs and looks at her friends who seem to really feel bad for what they've done.

"Alright. I get it, you guys rarely get to be with your boyfriend anyway. I guess I can let this slide just this once."

Their eyes glitter and they both gave Mina a big hug.

"Thank you! We promise this won't happen again!" Sasha cried.

"Yeah! You know how much we love you!" Ashley chips in.

Mina couldn't really stay mad at them, they were her best friends since middle school. Though it saddens her how they were able to snag a boyfriend and she is left alone.

"Alright, since you guys preferably want to be with them, I'll just head home early."

"No! How can we do that to you, we said we'd sing together. If you want we can ask the guys to leave," Sasha suggested.

"Nah it's fine, you girls have fun. I have to head home early anyway since I have to make dinner tonight for my brother."

"Are you sure? Don't you want to stay a little longer?" Ashley asks.

"It's alright. I need to head to the supermarket, they are having a sale today and I should hurry before they run out of ingredients."

Ashley and Sasha look at each other slightly concern then turn to her.

"If you're sure then we won't keep you waiting," said Ashley.

"Call us if you need anything," Sasha added.

"Yeah yeah I know now hurry up and return to your men, don't wanna keep them waiting."

"Very well, we'll text you later okay!" said Sasha.

"Alright, see ya!" Mina says as she turns to leave.
