Love in a Wish

Chapter 3

Mina follows the receptionist who led her to an elevator.

"The dining room will be on the 10th-floor ma'am."

"Thank you," Mina replies as she enters the elevator painted with luxurious red fabrics and gold handles attached to the walls.

"Wow! This place is really nice! They even have us go on the elevator!"

"Kyle quiet down. We are in a high-class restaurant so please mind your manners."

Ugh, maybe I shouldn't have picked such a classy restaurant.

"Hey Mina, why didn't you ask for that guy's number," Kyle nonchalantly ask.

"W-Why would I do that!"

Kyle grinned and said, "Because you like him!"

"I-I do not! Stop saying stuff like that or else we are going home!"

"No! I wanna eat!"

"Then please behave we're almost to the 10th floor."

The elevator opens and they walk down the hallway. Greeting them there were a couple of waiters dressed in red tailored uniforms.

"Welcome, please follow me as I lead you to your table."

They walk into a room filled with chandeliers and square tables covered in white cloths, and organized per seat were some silver utensils, plates, and cloth napkins. There was a balcony with some dining tables and extravagant flower decor. As she passes the room filled with people wearing fancy clothes she felt a bit embarrassed that she was the only one who wasn't a part of this setting. She could tell she was being stared through the corner of her eye. Some giggling and others gave odd glances. The waiter led her to her table near the corner by the windows.

Guess they figure they hide us since we don't look the part.

"May I ask your preferred beverages."

"Um...2 glasses of water please."

"Very well, I'll be back with your drinks," the waiter said then left.

"Wow, these foods look good!" Kyle said as he looks over the menu.

Mina looks over the menu: Lobster, Crab, shrimp, salmon, etc. The price is.....

Why is this place so expensive! These dishes are over $100.00 for just one dish! Maybe I should've just bought pizza...

Ughhh all I could get from these are the drinks, and maybe an appetizer...

"Hey Mina! Can I get the lobster, I never tried it."

Why do you have to pick the most expensive dish out of all these dishes!

"Um...you sure you want that...it looks difficult to eat...how about the appetizers they look good don't they..." Mina said hesitantly.

"Awww but you said I can eat whatever."

Yeah, I shouldn't have said that, nor come here in the first place.

"I changed my mind! I don't have a lot of money so please pick something less expensive," she pleadingly said.

"Mm....alright...but you better get me ice cream after!"

Mina sighs with relief and said, "That's a deal!"

A few minutes later, the waiter came back with their drinks.

"Are you ready to order?"

"Ah...yes. I'll get this appetizer and this dish here..."
