you're okay love - klaus mikaelson (tvd/to)

it's cold outside, which makes sense, i mean it's january. i'm sitting inside my apartment by the fireplace with a book. i'm in my own head, intrigued by the book when i hear a knock on the door. i assume it's klaus, back with coffee, and i open the door. 

"y/n" i hear a familiar voice say.

"stefan salvatore" i roll my eyes. stefan was one of my best friends, that is until he turned of his humanity. now he just sees me as klaus' girlfriend. "what do you want?"

"you" he says before snapping my neck.

i wake up in the middle of the forest in mystic falls, freezing and tied against a tree. 

"ow stefan! vervain ropes?" i yell in no specific direction. i can't see him or anyone else, just trees and trees and more trees. 

"sorry y/n" he laughs, "who am i kidding? no i'm not sorry. klaus ruined my life, i figured it's time to ruin his"

"think about this stefan" i growl "this won't help your situation with klaus"

"who cares?" he almost screams. "now shut up while i call your little boyfriend"

"he's not my boyfriend" i snap back. i mean he isn't. yeah i may love him but we're just best friends... that's all we've ever been. i don't want to ruin something like that.

"i said shut up" stefan rolls his eyes and dials klaus' number. 

"stefan, what a lovely surprise" i hear klaus' voice through the phone, "i'm busy getting coffee right now, what do you need?"

"i have y/n" stefan says simply.

"where are you?" klaus growls quickly. 

"a few miles from the boarding house, shouldn't be too hard to hear with y/n's screaming in pain" he laughs.

"you will regret this" klaus threatens. 

"yeah yeah, just hurry up and bring the last of elena's blood you have or i'll kill her" stefan states before hanging up the phone. 

"stefan, stefan please don't hurt me" i mumble. i was with klaus and damon the night stefan almost drove elena off the bridge. if he would hurt elena who knows what he's capable of. 

"you are so annoying" he rolls his eyes, "i can't believe i ever voluntarily spent time with you" stefan takes a bottle of water, which probably has vervain in it, off the snow covered ground. he opens the lid and tosses some of the water on me. 

"KLAUS PLEASE" i scream as the freezing vervain burns my skin. stefan doesn't wait for the pain to settle before he takes out a knife from his back pocket and begins dragging it along my arms. they quickly healed before he moved onto my face. "please" i yell in pain, "stop"

"STEFAN" i hear klaus' voice fill the forest. 

"ahh my dear friend" stefan says happily. "do you have the blood?" 

"yes" klaus says and throws the blood bags at stefan before rushing over to me. 

"please" i barely can whisper. 

"shh, you're okay love" klaus says before brushing my hair from my face and holding my cheeks gently. he starts taking of the ropes and winces slightly.

"vervain, i'm sorry" i pant. klaus continues to take them off as i look around and see that stefan and the blood bags are gone. "you can't make anymore hybrids now" 

"nothing matters if you aren't with me" klaus shakes his head before embracing me in a hug. he holds my head as i dig my face into his shoulder. 

" please take me home" i whisper as klaus carries me and quickly takes me home.

klaus helped me shower before tucking me into my bed, "alright love, get some rest" klaus says. 

"wait" i look up, "please stay. come lay with me" 

he doesn't say anything, just comes around to the other side of my bed and lays down next to me. i lay my head on his chest and close my eyes. klaus plays with my hair as i begin to fall asleep.

"i love you y/n. i love you so much" i hear klaus whisper. 

"i love you niklaus mikaelson" i look up and see his surprised face.

"i- i thought you were asleep" he looks down at me. 

"almost, but i'm glad i wasn't" i smile as he leans down and kisses me on the forehead.
