i woke up to an unknown number texting me

unknown : is this lanie??

lanie : uh yeah who's this

unknown : oh yeah sorry i forgot to say it's corbyn jacks band mate, jack told me about you and i asked him if you'd get along with my girlfriend christina he said probably so i was gonna give you her number

lanie changed "unknown" to "corbs"

lanie : ouu okay. i've watched some of her yt vids before. she seems cool :))

corbs : alright her number is (xxx) - xxx - xxxx

i turned off my phone and saw my sister still sleeping in the chair. yes i'm still in the hospital. i'm not sure when i'm getting released but i hope it's soon, hospital food sucks

a few minutes later jack walked in with the rest of his band mates this time

"hey lanie, these are my band mates corbyn, daniel, and jonah" he said

"hey guys, i was actually just texting corbyn" i said laughing

"have you texted christina yet?" corbyn asked

"not yet i was gonna do it later" just as i said that a nurse walked in

"i assume you want to know when you can leave" the nurse said smiling. since she looks happy i guess soon. i nodded my head at her "you can leave at noon today, so get all your stuff and be ready by 11:30" she says walking out of the room

the rest of the boys and marissa walked out leaving me and jack

"do you wanna go on the date tonight or is it too soon since your just getting out today" he asked. it's cute how he cares

i smiled and said "nope tonight's fine"

"we have to rehearse a little so i'll see you later" i watch as jack walks out and marissa walks back in

"are you guys going on another date" she asks smirking

"yes we are going tonight and your helping me decide what to wear again"

it was now 11:30 and i get out in 30 mins. thank goodness i missed my bed. they let me out and we got an uber home since my car get wrecked in the crash. once we get home i start getting ready

i habe marissa curl my hair and do this to it

(i decided to change the main character from jillian shes spaeder to olivia rodrigo, it just fits better for later on)

i realized i didn't even know if i was supposed to dress casual or fancy, i texted jack

lanie : for tonight do i need to dress casual or fancy??

jack : casual again:))

i have no idea why but jack using smiley faces makes him so much more attractive. wait. i stopped. do i like like jack? i mean yeah he's cute but i didn't think i liked him, i think i do though. i'll talk to marissa

i decided on wearing a white tank top with jeans and my black converse

i did my make-up then posted on insta before i went to talk to marissa

i walked to marissas room to talk to her about jack

"hey can i talk to you about something" i ask nervously

"yeah sure" she says patting the seat next to her

"i think i like jack but im not 100% sure"

"well you always smile when you talk about him and you've never been this happy after alex"

alex was her boyfriend in 10th grade, he was amazing at the beginning. then he started getting controlling and hitting her and would always threaten her when she tried to break up with him

i shuddered at the thought of him

"yeah, thanks marissa" i walked out of her room and sat down writing song lyrics in my journal while waiting for jack to pick me up
