Saiki's POV

Ugh, I just want some peace for a few minutes. I'm sat upstairs in my room and I can hear my parents downstairs start to argue and shout at each other for another stupid reason. I could tell it was going to happen before dad even walked through the door but they saw each other faster than expected. They'll argue like this for a while before making up and becoming all lovey-dovey with each other again but I just wanna leave the house before either of them come to find me to take their side in the argument. I can sense some people from school a few minutes away and I don't want to have to talk to them, that means going outside is a no go.

Teleporting downstairs, I quickly grab two coffee jelly's and spoons from the fridge and then rush back to my room before I'm spotted by my parents.

As I sit back down on my bed I try to find one train of thoughts in particular out of the many I can hear, Y/N thoughts. Y/N is a girl who lives down the road from me that I've known since I was little. Since we're the same age our mums would arrange 'play dates' thinking it was the cutest thing ever for us to hang out. When we were younger she had a very strong imagination and thought that I had magical powers and eventually, well a few years later, she found out that I did really have psychic powers. I could have erased it from her memory but I was younger and knew there was too much risk, so instead, she promised to keep it a secret and we ended up telling each other everything from that day on. Even though she later moved to a different school we stayed friends (and I had to make sure she didn't tell anyone my secret).

There. I singled out Y/N's thoughts and put my voice in her head so she could hear me.

"Y/N" I start as to bring her attention away from the manga she's reading.

"Ah don't do that so suddenly Saiki. It makes me jump." She says out loud knowing I can hear her even if I'm not with her. "What's up?"

"Can I come over? My parents are going to annoy me any second now"

"Sure. My manga's getting boring anyway." The way she's still taking out loud instead of just thinking her replies confirms that her parents aren't home, which is great so I don't have to knock on their door and can just suddenly teleport into their home.

I pick up both coffee jelly's and teleport straight into her room. As I land down on her floor I feel a bump on my chest and then something falls to the floor with a thud. Looking down I see Y/N sat on the floor rubbing her nose. "Owww! Did you have to teleport right in front of me? I just stood up and you were there." she says at me slightly annoyed and still rubbing her nose from where she bumped into me. She tucks her hair that had come loose from her bun behind her ear and stands up again. I still think she needs to get used to how my powers work but at least she isn't surprised every time I do something like she used to be when we were younger.

"Sorry" I walk past her, handing her one of the coffee jelly's and a spoon that I took with me, and sit down in her desk chair while opening up my own and eating a spoonful.

"This is perfect. I can tell him today" she thinks to herself. Tell me what? I give her a questioning look but she ignores it and walks over to her bedroom door, resting her hand on the handle "Have you watch the new episode of the anime we started?" she asks while peeling back the film on top of her own coffee jelly. I shake my head in response. I've purposely been avoiding going online so people don't spoil it for me just so I could watch it with Y/N and not know exactly what's going to happen. "Come on. Let's go downstairs and watch it" she smiles at me as she walks out the door and skips down the stairs like an excited child. A small smile crosses my lips as I stand up and follow her down to the sofa.
