Kyoko decided to follow the boy, who she seemed to be drawn to for some reason, to see what he meant by 'fish' and just to get a closer look at him. He was humming some tune while fishing, but his face was showing no happiness with the song he was humming. He was thinking about how he was different than the other kids he hung around.
When Naoki was born, he was surrounded by knowledge...his parents were very talented researchers who helped the Leaf with new attack plans, strategies, gadgets like improved smoke bombs, and even new jutsus from time to time. As a four year old is, Naoki was curious in all of the books and research papers. Naoki spent most of his time sneaking history books that his parents never read. Sometimes his older brother caught him, but ignored it completely.
"This kid just wants to learn...whatever..." said Kazuki whenever he caught Naoki sneaking away with a book.
At age six, Naoki was becoming like Itachi...young, but knowledgeable. Once he even asked his parents to tell him the story of how ninjas got 'chakra' as a bed time story. When there came a problem his parents couldn't solve, Naoki just wanders into whatever situation they are in and tries to solve it.
Lost in thought, Naoki didn't realize he had caught a fish on his line. He was dragged into the water by the fish and was in shock and confusion. Kyoko couldn't help but giggle a bit. Naoki sighed and got out of the water to dry off. As he lay in the grass to dry himself using the sun, he glanced in Kyoko's direction. At that, Kyoko ducked as quietly and as fast as she could. Naoki waited and waited until the sun was about to turn orange and set until he was completely dry. Kyoko, who grew tired of waiting, was sleeping behind a bush she was hiding behind. As Naoki got up with his few fish and fishing rod, he passed Kyoko's bush and seemingly woke her up with his presence. Kyoko blushed as she woke up from a dream she had...with Naoki...
She shook it off and followed Naoki home. As Naoki arrived at the Uchiha's part of town with Kyoko behind him, hiding, he turned around and started walking towards the bush Kyoko was hiding behind.
"I know you are there, Kyoko." Naoki said sighing. Kyoko shyly stepped out of the bush and sighed.
"Sorry for following you..." she sighed. Out of no where, Akiko put her arm around Naoki's neck like she was his best friend and not his older sister.
"Look at my little brother! He has a girlfriend now!" she teased Naoki. Naoki escaped his sister's grasp and blushed with Kyoko as Kazuki walked into the mix.
"Looks like our little brother got curious enough to pick up a girl..." he said as he dragged Akiko by the collar back to their house, leaving the two alone.
"Do you see me that way?" Naoki asked, scratching the back of his head and looking away. Kyoko slowly nodded and blushed at the ground. The two stood there in silent for a little while...then Naoki broke the silence.
"You do go to the Academy right?" Naoki asked.
"Y-Yeah..." Kyoko said shyly. Naoki then patted her on the head softly and smiled.
"Then I'll see you again at the Academy," he said as he took off back to his home, once again leaving Kyoko blushing.
"So that's your deal with him?" Sakura asked as the two finished their ramen bowls. The two decided to go to the ramen place for a quick lunch.
"Yep, and I still have the same eyes for him...even if he is rumored to be an Akatsuki!" Kyoko said cheerfully, leaving the money for both their ramen on the counter.
"I'll see you around! I have to go make sure my mission report is finished by tomorrow!" Kyoko said as she ran out of the building, leaving Sakura to her thoughts.
"Maybe he is alright, from what I can tell..." Sakura muttered.
"So that's your deal..." Naruto sighed, as he and Naoki stopped by the river outside their village. Naruto was strolling outside the village and bumped into Naoki fishing at a nearby pond. When he found Naoki, he wasn't wearing his black robes anymore, but a black long sleeve with a button long sleeve with a collar on top of that, matched with black pants and his black shoes. He still had his headband with the 'scar' going through it, so he wore it on his head again like he used to.
"Yeah...I have seen much, and learned much from that experience...I thought that I'd have to use her as a way to gain your trust, but after leaving her for so long, I could never do that." Naoki sighed skipping a rock across the river as he and Naruto were passing it.
"I guess I was wrong," Naruto said walking slowly now, "wrong about you. I thought you were apart of the Akatsuki..."
"It's ok...after all I've been through, I can't expect a warm welcome back into the village after I left." Naoki sighed slowing his pace to walk at the same speed as Naruto. Then out of no where, some thugs slowly walked up to the two and grabbed Naoki by the collar, lifting him off the ground.
"Finally found you! Time to bring you to justice, you creep!" the leader said. He was about to drag Naoki away but Naruto charged up a Rasengan and hit the thug next to the leader with it, and then ninja jumping over the leader to land on his head with a drop kick.
More thugs showed up as Naruto knocked out the leader, which allowed Naoki to escape.
"Get up, Mike!" Naruto said, grabbing Naoki's hand and pulling him off the ground. Time almost froze for the two, because Naruto, for two weeks, didn't trust this 'stranger', but now he can, and he has to at this moment. For Naoki, he just gained another few friends, and probably achieved the best way to spy on Naruto.
"Yeah." Naoki said as he stood up with Naruto's help. The two now stood back to back, surrounded by thugs. They both took off and started attacking the thugs and knocking them out without the use of any ninjutsu. There was one point where Naoki had to use Fireball to push back some of the thugs in front of him.
"Careful, don't kill any of them!" Naruto yelled dodging attacks while trying to deliver some right back at the attackers.
"Yeah, yeah." Naoki said as he threw a punch at a thug's gut, then jumped up and kicked him in the face. After a while, the two were two were about ankle deep with knocked out thugs. The two found a nearby spot of grass where no thugs have been knocked out on and they both fell down laughing side by side onto the grass.
"That was sort of fun!" Naruto laughed as he looked at the afternoon clouds pass overhead.
"Yep!" Naoki said doing the same. The two decided to take a nap on the perfectly soft grass after a while of looking up at the sky.
Sakura found Kyoko again later at her apartment to go 'take a hike'. Kyoko agreed and decided to wear mostly white. Her outfit was basically what Naoki wore, but all white, and a skirt instead of pants and she decided to wear her headband around her neck. The two decided to go alongside the river since it seemingly sparkles because of the sunlight at this point of the day.
"So, why did you call Mike by the name Naoki?" Sakura asked.
"Hm? Oh! I forgot he changed it before he left me...he dropped a piece of paper saying, 'It's Mike now.' as he was leaving." Kyoko explained. The two walked on talking about other things going around the village, when they saw the two idiots laying down on the grass sleeping soundly. Plus, nearby, were the knocked out bodies of all the thugs. Sakura sighed, and was about to ask Kyoko 'Are they stupid or what?', but Kyoko was already sleeping with her head resting on Naoki's chest. Sakura shook her head and decided to watch over them sleeping, just in case those thugs woke up again. To pass the time she read a book. She was dosing off, when she heard Naruto shift in the grass and wake up. He noticed Kyoko on Naoki's chest and held in laughter.
"Don't make fun of them, you idiot!" Sakura said punching Naruto in the face, but not hard enough to send him flying.
"Ow...sorry, Sakura..." Naruto apologized sitting up right now, hanging his head low. Sakura let out a little laugh at Naoki and Kyoko, not being able to resist, which made Naruto mad.
"Hypocrite..." he whined.
"Oh shut up..." Sakura sighed. Then, the two had an idea, one that might change the way Naoki was seen to the village. People in the village now hated Naoki, he was like a normal creep citizen in their village...but no matter how much they think so, they probably would be swayed to think he isn't a creep by seeing him around Naruto and Sakura...and other Leaf Ninja. Sakura took out a flip phone that had a small camera built into it, and took a picture of the sleeping couple. She then proceeded to send copies of it out, saying, 'Mike isn't a bad guy, just look at this!'. She then sent Naoki and Kyoko the photo, wondering what their reactions will be. Naruto snickered a bit.
"This'll be good...not just for comedy though." He said.
"C'mon, Naruto...let's leave our little couple alone." Sakura said as she and Naruto walked back to the village.
"You mean us?" Naruto teased. He regretted saying that instantly as Sakura punched him down the path a way up.
Later, when the sun was turning orange and was about to start setting, Naoki woke up and found Kyoko on his chest. He didn't know how to react...so he just sighed, smiled, and hugged her closer to him. He then fell back asleep, with little knowledge that Kyoko was already awake, and waiting for him make some kind of move. She smiled and fell back asleep to, forgetting what happened.
When the two woke up, it was morning, and they were both looking around to get their bearings. The they both remembered each others' presence, and looked towards each other.
Naruto and Sakura were heading back to the two when they heard their cries of surprise, causing the two to snicker a bit.
"K-Kyoko?" Naoki asked in disbelief.
"M-Mike?" Kyoko asked in return.
At that name, Naoki turned from surprised to serious.
"Kyoko...I miss it when you called me by my name...now I made you call me Mike...I'm sorry for everything I've done to you..." Naoki said, almost crying. Kyoko changed her expression to, and hugged Naoki, who was now sitting up.
"It's ok, you did what you wanted to do...you did what you had to...Naoki-kun..." Kyoko said, reassuring Naoki. The two looked at each other one more time before giving each other a kiss. Naruto and Sakura saw them and laughed silently. Sakura took some pictures of it while Naruto was rolling around on the ground laughing quietly. When Naoki and Kyoko broke away from each other, they turned to look towards the two, who were laughing a bit.
"N-Naruto?! S-Sakura?!" Naoki and Kyoko cried in surprise.
"Gotcha!" Naruto and Sakura said smiling, and then running away.
"H-Hey!" Naoki yelled, face red. He then took off after them, with Kyoko following behind with a red face as well.
