y/n pov
After realizing that Sana has a stray hair hanging in front of her face, I take a step forward and softly cup her chin so she doesn't move. She closes her eyes as I lean down and brush the wavy lock behind her ear.
"Sana-ssi, are you okay?" I anxiously question her when she doesn't open her eyes after a while.
Her eyelids lift to reveal honey-colored eyes with an unknown expression. Oh wait, I know this one. She didn't receive something she was expecting. Reminds me of when Nikko's 10th birthday when... no. No. I shake my head furiously to bury the memory. Now isn't the time.
"Woah hey hey," Sana encases my head in her hands, "calm down, Y/n."
I take a deep breath in as I close my eyes and open them as I let it go. I take her hands off of my cheeks and she hold them to her chest.
"Sorry sorry, uhm you should go. You probably have people waiting for you." I take a step back from her.
"Yeah... I should go." She mutters quietly as she turns around,"bye, Y/n."
I raise my hand to wave goodbye, but realize the effort is futile. I watch her walk away. She doesn't turn back. Ugh fuck. What was I thinking? Why did I do all of that for her? And I'm missing out on Sung-nim's playing, but deep down it feels like it was worth it. And all I have to remember her by is this green tea castella that I don't even like.
I smack myself in an attempt to tie myself back to the real world and the things I need to be doing. I have to go meet up with Sungnim and possibly Seri... yes Seri. Focus on her. What happened today will never happen again. Sana will seem like nothing but a dream tomorrow. But, right now you can go meet up with Seri and tell her how beautiful she looks with her purple hair. So go do that. Yes, Y/n, let's go do that.
So, I start towards Thinking Cup Coffee Bar (TCCB), Sungnim's usual joint, distracting myself with thoughts of anything but Sana.
When I arrive Seri is sitting in a chair with her macchiato and my usual seat turned towards where Sungnim is singing with his guitar and a warm chai latte is on the table over a piece of note paper. I quietly sneaking up behind Seri, and after making sure she isn't drinking anything, I wrap my arms around her and kiss her cheek. She somehow still manages to choke on air.
"YAH!" Her shout is so loud that Sungnim who was completely in the zone is brought back to reality.
"YAH!" He exclaims equally as loud, but with a more excited rather than annoyed tone, and comes bounding over to us. "HYUNGGGGGG!"
I welcome him with a hug, but don't ruffle his hair as it'd probably come out of his bun and he hates when that happens. Seri quietly sips her drink as Sungnim goes on and on about how sad he was I couldn't come and he hopes I didn't help someone random on the street because then I had sacrificed my time for someone I don't even know and that time was supposed to be spent with him. Aish, what am I going to do with this kid, he knows me too well.
Abruptly, Seri grabs his hair and berates him for not telling her I was coming, "Our little maknae thinks he can do this to the oldest first year, we'll see about that!"
I'm laughing my ass off, their exchanges are always so entertaining. But, even though angry Seri can be pretty hot, I want my little brother to play for a bit longer. So, I interrupt her with my aegyo, "Seri-ah, stop messing with Sungnim, let him play."
"Jagi~" she says sarcastically, "aegyo doesn't work when you do it," she looks disgusted.
Ahh there it is, the normal fluttering in my stomach I feel around her. This is my girl, Sana has nothing on her. Yeah... Sana has nothing on her. And I repeat it like a mantra throughout the day as we listen to Sungnim play, as I wink at the barista who left my drink for me, as we go to Seri's favorite mandu shop for lunch, and as I walk Seri home.
