TAYLOR POV

It’s been 3 weeks since I’ve seen Harry. I’m on tour here in the states, while they have been on the Asia and Australia leg of their tour. Since I’m not abroad I also have to look after the kids. That involves a VERY lively 3.5 year old and a just-started-to-walk 1 year old....on tour with late nights and daily change in schedule. Luckily my team are very understanding, having gone through it twice with Livy already. This means that we keep rehearsals down to a minimum where possible, always have at least a day between concerts in different cities (so we can travel calmly and get used to the new place and timings), and no longer use a tour bus, opting for staying in hotels and travelling by plane or car instead.

Tomorrow One Direction gets back from Australia. They have 2 weeks off before they start back on the road in the states. So for 2 weeks I’ll have Harry around. It’s all I can think about as I get ready for my show. This is my final show of three in Nashville, and my next show isn’t for another 5 days. Livy and Lucas are with my parents, playing in another room, so I am able to get dressed and get my hair and makeup done in silence, which is a rare thing in my world these days.

There is a knock at the door and someone enters holding a huge bunch of roses. I know who they are from straight away. Harry has developed a habit of sending me roses the day before he comes home. There is always 1 rose per day that we’ve been apart, so this time there are 22 roses in the bouquet. It’s really cheesy but really cute as well. I gladly take the flowers, thanking the sweet young delivery guy who shyly asks me for an autograph for his girlfriend, I of course do one better and send him off with some merch as well as a signed Polaroid.

Every so often I get Livy and Lucas up on the B-stage when I perform, and tonight was one of those nights. I was singing Never Grow Up, a good oldie now I guess, and they both loved that song and it was special to have my kids there with me as I sang it, even if it made me tear up. They just sit there, or in Livy’s case dance around for the crowd, wearing their little ear-defenders.

The show went off without a hitch, as usual, and I was able to get home with the kids in good time to get them to bed. We needed our sleep if we were going to meet Harry at the airport at 9am!

HARRY POV

The boys were getting really annoyed at me as we flew back from Sydney to LA. I kept checking the in-flight maps to check when we were landing and wandering around the plane, full of nervous energy. I was getting a connection to Nashville as soon as we land and was very excited about finally seeing my family after so long. Well not so, so long- it had only been 3 weeks, but it felt like a lifetime!

As soon as the plane had landed I texted to tell Taylor I was in LA and would see them all soon, even though I knew they wouldn’t be awake yet, or at least I hope they weren’t this early, but with 2 kids under 5 waking up at 6am seemed a little too normal to us. I barely said bye to the boys before rushing through the terminal to catch my flight to Nashville.

We had planned to stay in Nashville until Taylor’s next show, since her parents were there to babysit and we had just finished renovating the house. After a lot of deliberation Taylor had sold her condo there and we had bought a house not far from her parents. It had been hard for her, since it was the first property she had ever bought and it was so very Taylor inside with the giant birdcage and quirky decorations, but really not very kid friendly or spacious enough for more than a night all together there at a time. The house has 5 bedrooms, a large kitchen and dining area, and a large backyard which already has a swing set and jungle gym set up in it.

TAYLOR POV

I had been woken up at 7am by Livy climbing onto our bed and jumping on top of me. Lucas usually just woke u and sat in his crib until someone came to get him out, which was exactly how I found him when I went into his room. We ate breakfast while watching TV as a treat, and then all got dressed to go to the airport.

Livy had made a sign for Harry that read ‘Welcome home daddy! We missed you!’ with hearts all over it. She was very proud of it so we made sure we had it for her to hold at the arrivals gate.

I was nervous to see Harry. Like good nervous, not scared nervous. It was like every time we were apart I realised why I couldn’t live without him all over again.

As people came through the doors I kept one eye on Livy who was standing right in front of me, while holding Lucas in my arms almost asleep on my shoulder, and the other eye was looking out for Harry. I spotted him as soon as he strolled through the doors, his green eyes latching onto mine as soon as he noticed me. It was like two magnets moving towards each other in sync.

“Hey babe!” Harry said, smiling at me and giving me a quick kiss before greeting Livy who was tugging on his pants to get attention. “Hey Livy-boo! I love your sign! Did you make it just for me?”

“Uh huh daddy!! I love you!” Livy replied, grinning at Harry with an identical grin to his.

“I love you too Liv!” Harry said picking her up.

We made our way out of the airport to the car that was waiting for us outside the terminal.

“How’s my little guy?” Harry asked as we got into the car and I strapped a sleeping Lucas and bouncy Livy into their seats.

“He’s as perfect as ever; fell asleep about 10 minutes before you came out.” I replied.

By the time we got back to the house Lucas was awake so he and Livy went off to play in the playroom next to the kitchen while harry and I got some coffee.

“So I was thinking today and tonight we’d spend as a family, maybe have homemade pizza and watch a movie. The kids have missed you; well at least I know Livy has. Then tomorrow the kids are going to spend the evening and overnight at my parents, so you and I can have some peace and quiet together. How’s that sound? Like, nothing’s for sure but I thought you might want to spend some time with the kids and.....” I told Harry, seeing him smirk as I rambled slightly

“That sounds perfect, as usual, Taylor. I am looking forward to spending time with both the kids and alone with you.” Harry replied, pushing a stray piece of hair behind me ear and kissing me on the top of my head as I was still sitting on one of the breakfast stools while he was standing next to me. “How did I get so lucky?”

“Well your mysterious green eyes, cheeky smile, and floppy hair sure helped!” I teased him

“Only interested in looks huh?” He replied cheekily, pouting slightly

“No, looks don’t matter. It’s that heart of gold and pure voice that really makes me swoon, especially if you are singing to our children or to me.” I replied, sincerely, wrapping my arms around his torso and leaning my head against his chest.
