~Friday~
This morning, I got to wake up at the right amount of time, not late. I showered, got dressed, and grabbed some breakfast.
I met up with my friends before class.
"Are you sure you don't want to stay at my place?" Jason asks.
"I'm sure, I don't want to be some freeloader. I can't really reach up to half of the bills to the apartment you're at, I'm afraid I won't be able to pay you back."
"Oh stop worrying about the pay, I'd rather worry about your life first, huh?" Jason says.
"No thanks. You'll probably be in danger if you get involved. And both of you, stop being so dramatic over this." I told them clearly.
"But-"
*Bell rings*
"Fine. You be careful then." Max says.
"I will."
We all left for class, it was just the same old routine, no changes, except maybe I had a different meal for lunch. And I'm not picking Piper up tonight.
If I made it back from work last night, then I can make it back tonight.
Yeah.
~After School~
When I drove back to the dorm, I changed from my school clothes to my casual clothes.
Then I worked on some homework/practice problems and a project that was assigned today.
Once I was done, I had to start driving to the bar.
I was pretty early though, so I had plenty of time to get ready, I changed into work clothes.
I ran into my boss on my way out of the changing room at the hallway.
"Oh, Ricky, you're here! Hehe." She said nervously.
"Oh, what's wrong?"
"Err, well, to be honest, someone is waiting for you in the VIP section, room 6."
"Who is it?" I asked curiously.
"I think it for the best to look and see."
"Oh, okay then."
I walked to the VIP area, which is very expensive, I found number 6, I opened the door
It was the son of the devil, Hayden. . .
I quickly tried to take my leave, but his bodyguards blocked me.
Author: He really tried it, but someone says nope! ✋🏻💀
I faced Hayden who was in a mood of mockery, I want to smear that grin off his face.
His bodyguards pushed me down to an open seat cross from Hayden.
"Where did you think you were going? Why leave so soon?"
I rolled my eyes at his fake attitude, "Stop beating around the bush, just tell me." I said straightforwardly.
"What? No wine?"
"I don't drink." I lied.
"Fine. More for me then. I wanted to catch up, you and me, why not Piper too?"
"Don't bring her to this."
"What? This reunion?"
"Well, this reunion seems so suspicious. I can't help but feel that you are still the same, maybe worse, who knows." I shrugged.
"We'll see about that."
"But. . . if you're here to shut me up on what I saw at that alley, I won't tell a single soul."
He scoffs, "I could care less if you told everyone on the planet, go ahead, I have nothing to hide. Besides that's not why I'm here."
"Then why are you here?"
"Work for me."
"What?"
"I said work for me." He repeated.
"Why?"
"Why not?"
I stayed in silence.
"I pay better, better than this bar, better than being a model, better than combined."
Better, better, better. That's what you keep saying. It's annoying.
"I'll pay you $200 a day, 24/7." My jaws dropped, like that's $1,400 a week!
"Okay, I get it. The job your job offering is better the ones I'm working at right now. But why me?"
"Do I really need to answer that question?"
"An explanation would be nice. Sorry I asked." Geez!
"So, how about it?"
"I'm sorry, but my answer no."
"You don't even know what the job is."
"I bet it includes violence. No way in h*ll I'm getting myself involved in some gangster stuff."
"But you punched a gangster, not to mention twice, in fact."
"But that's because I didn't know you were a gangster, or the son of the Mafia."
"But you did take down my friends and took Piper away when you had the chance, didn't you?"
"That's righ- what?! You knew?"
He rolls his eyes, then lays them back on me, "Who do you think I am? I'm Hayden LaCruzo, of course I found out."
But I was dressed unidentifiable, not even my face was seen, my voice was muffled up from the fabric covering my face.
"How'd you know it was me?"
"Do you really want to know?"
I nodded.
"Your eyes."
"My eyes?"
"I recognized them when you looked at me."
And that's the only proof?
"There are many people who have the same eyes as me, how would you know which is which?"
"I just knew. Besides, you just spilled the beans just now." He smirks, "Anyways, the job is being my bodyguard."
"Do I look like some bodyguard to you?"
"Yes, actually."
Really? -_-
