"So is the answer, 3x to the power of 4?" James asked.
"I don't know." I shrugged.
"You are the worst tutor ever!" he said leaning against the chair laughing.
"I don't care." I answered sticking out my tongue.
"By the way how did you know where I live," I asked curiously "what, have you been stalking me my whole life and I didn't know." I nudged him playfully.
"Well you didn't answer any of my texts and Hope told me you were having a bad day today. Wanted to meet you after school, but you left so I asked Hope where you live and BOOM," he exaggerated the last word, "I'm here," he finished giving me a smile.
Wow. Kinda feels good knowing someone cares about you.
I saw James turning his head away from his notebook and concentrated on me. "Hey, you alright?" he asked.
"Oh yeah, I'm just tired." I replied.
"You know what you need to do?" James asked as his lips formed into a smile.
"Lets take a walk to the park. Oh, and the best part is we don't have school tomorrow!" he cheered.
"But what about the rest of the math problems?"
"Haven't you ever heard of putting 'question marks'?" James said in a duh tone, as he began to write question marks on basically all the problems. I chuckled slightly as he did that.
"Again, you are seriously the worst tutor ever."
"Whatever you know you love me," he laughed "C'mon lets go." he said taking my head and heading out the door.
We got into the car and he drove off to who knows where.
"Hey, James?" I asked.
"Yeah?"
"Can we go to your secret place, you know the one with the waterfall?" I didn't want to go to my secret place. I wanted to go to James' since it was more peaceful, and quiet without those little kids running around.
"I knew you liked mine better." he said teasingly.
"Well it's only better because there's not kids running around." I stated. He laughed and agreed at my statement.
I took in the time to examine James. I sound like a creeper, but I swear I'm not. I looked at his brown eyes as they were focused on the road, his perfectly soft hair that looks so touchable. The way he would put his lips in a straight line whenever he got frustrated, like when we did those math problems together. But mostly, the way he smiled and laughed. He was beautiful.
"Couldn't help yourself could ya?" James said as he smirked at me. I felt embarrassed as he saw me looking at him.
I didn't say anything, but instantly blushed and tried to contain a smile that was creeping on my lips.
---
"You must really like my secret place." James laughed, as we both sat down next to the waterfall.
"Yeah, I do." I replied. There was just so much memories here. This was the place where I showed him my cuts. This was the place where the secrets went out. This was the place where I was my real self.
"You should smile more." James said. I can't believe I was smiling without even noticing it. Whenever I'm with James, I feel like the girl I was 5 years ago.
A happy girl.
"Can I draw a butterfly on you?" James asked. The Butterfly Project. I can't believe he knows what that is. Rarely, people don't know what the project is about because the word 'self-harm' is so foreign to them. The Butterfly Project, is when you draw a butterfly on your wrist, and if you cut then the butterfly dies. But if you don't cut, the butterfly will forever live on.
If someone draws a butterfly on you, then its a special butterfly.
"Y-yeah." I said, mentally cursing at myself for stuttering. I lifted up my bracelet, as he go out a pen and gently drew a butterfly, making sure to avoid the sensitive areas.
"Thank you." I told him.
"Your welcome." James whispered.
"Do you like One Direction." he said curiously, completely out of the blue.
"Hell yeah." I exclaimed. James laughed at my comment before he pulled out his iPhone out of his pocket
"Well, this may sound weird, but I kinda like one of their songs." he shyly admitted.
I gasped. "Which one?" I never actually heard of a guy directioner. The guys at our school think their lame and gay.
"I'll play it." he smiled.
The end of the night
We should say goodbye
But we carry on
While everyone's gone
Never felt like this before-ore
Are we friends or are we more?
As I'm walking towards the door
I'm not sure
"Change my mind! I love that song." I jumped.
"Me too." he agreed. He smiled shyly as the song continued.
It was getting dark, and the cherry blossoms above us began to slowly move as the wind rustles the leaves. I wasn't wearing a jacket, and I was shivering, again. I should have known it was going to be cold.
James slowly turned to me, and removed his jacket and wrapped it around me. Exactly, like he did the last time we were here.
"There you go, now your warm." he smiled, as he snapped on the top button.
"Thank you, but do you wanna go home now? I mean your gonna get cold, you don't have a jacket."
"No, I like it here." he smiled cheekily. "Scoot over." James said, patting the spot next to him. I scooted over, and I nuzzled against the crook of his neck. I felt a soft gasp as he was surprised by my sudden actions. I felt like we acted more as a couple than friends.
So there we were, watching the stars while "Change My Mind" was playing in the background.
(A/N) Hey guys, sorry for the long update! :/ Anyyyways, I'll update maybe tomorrow(: And listen to Change My Mind by ONE DIRECTION on the right----> That song is stuck in my head!
