"Mom?" I call throughout the house.
No answer. That's strange. She always answers me back. I check her room. Nope. I check the garage. Not there either. I check the kitchen. How is she not in here?
Something's wrong.
"Mom?" I call again. Still no answer. I check my phone for any missed messages.
There's only one and it's not from her. There's only one more place where she could be.
I walk out the patio door and I arrive at the pool.
I can't move.
I can't think.
There she is. Her hair floating in the water so freely. Her limbs floating peacefully.
There's just one problem.
She's surrounded by blood. A lot of blood.
I fall to my knees and I sob. I quickly grab my phone out of my back pocket and I call an ambulance. After a quick conversation, they inform me that they're on their way.
Now all I can do is hope.
