I was so mad the next day because after my nap. I confronted my cousins yet again but they gave me nothing to go on. I got dress in my work clothes but then something caught my eye. A smile found it's was on my face. I was five months pregnant today! Rubbing my belly I walked in to the kitchen. The boys were still asleep sprawled all over my living room. Rolling my eyes I went down stairs because I was in the mood for Al's pancakes. I looked around no one was here yet I guess we are going to have a slow day.
Walking in the kitchen I found Al "good morning Al," he looked up and smiled.
"Good morning Val, how are you feeling this fine morning?" he said as I kissed his cheek.
"Good because I'm five months today! Which mean tomorrow I get to go see how my little one is doing." I took a seat on the stool facing him "Oh and I was hoping if maybe I can get some pancakes?"
Al started laughing but nodded "Yeah, you can get some pancakes. Do you want anything with them?"
"Eggs and bacon would be nice."
He smiled and nodded while turning on the grill "so how is everything going. I feel like we have talked in a while."
Al was an old man who love to cook and his food is mouth-watering. But he is a sweet old man. I usually come in here during my break to talk to him about my day and he tells me about his day and his wife. Who I met twice before and let me say this. They are the couple who have that relationship you hope to have one day. They treat each other like they will die tomorrow. But will live forever. It's hard to explain but it's so cute and I adore them. After finishing up I had to get back to work. So I felt the kitchen Telling Al I'll see him later.
I looked around there was more people here than before. I looked around and stopped in my tracks. There he was again in the same corner, with the same hood over his face. It was like he knew I was looking because his head leaned a little to the side as if drinking me in. Feeling fear build up in me. I looked for Frank but he wasn't here I felt my phone buzz in my pocket.
Franks name flashed on the screen "Hello?" my voice came out a little shaking
"Is everything okay?" he asked catching the hit of fear in my voice
Swallowing I said "yeah, it's just there is this guy here who's been watching me for a while. It's starting to creep me out.'
"Do you need me to send anyone to take care of it?" right when he said that. The voice on the other side stopped making me think he might have left the room. Till I heard Strider's voice.
"Is she alright? I can go now," his voice was faint but I can still hear it.
"No, I'm fine. If he tries anything he has to deal with my cousins." I went behind the bar looking for a note pad. "When are you coming down, Frank?"
I changed the subjected not wanting to talk about it too much "I won't be in till late afternoon. I was hoping you can hold it down till I get there?"
"Oh yeah, sure no problem. I'll call you if I need you." We talked a few more minutes. Mainly me trying to convince him that I'm fine and he didn't need to send anyone over.
After finding the notepad I got straight to work ignoring the guy in the corner. I'm not going to let him control my life.
After been on my feet all day my lower back and feet were starting to hurt. Looking at the time I saw it was time for my lunch break. I sat down at the bar and started to snack on some chips and salsa. When I felt someone behind me I turned my head to see Derek. But since I was still mad I turned to look away from him focusing on the chips.
