The early morning light was shining through the window hitting my face. Rolling over I found Brianna sound asleep, not wanting to wake her. I got up and made my way down stairs. I would say believe it or not. But I can't. When you're pregnant you are always hungry. I opened the fridge looking for something to eat I wasn't sure what I wanted to eat. I was tapping my foot thinking of what to make when Pops came inside from out back. He was surprise to see me but it turned to a smile.
He kissed the top of my head "What are you doing up this early?"
"I'm hungry. But I don't know what I want."
Chuckling at me he told me to have a seat on the island while he whipped something up. Hey beats cooking right?
"How did you sleep baby girl?" he asked, as he turned the stove on.
"Good, for most of the night, anyhow. She thought it was funny to play soccer with my bladder." Shaking my head I rubbing my belly.
Pops started laughing shaking his head. "Looks like you got yourself a little soccer player."
I started laughing because it was true. She was kicking all night even Bri told her to stop kicking when she had her arm draped over me. Let's just face it she is a big cuddlier! I turned my attention back to Pops as he worked around the kitchen. Soon the air was filled with the smell of food. My tummy was going a little crazy, I heard feet coming down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"Man that smells good," Derek said, kissing my cheek taking a seat next to me "Hey Pops,"
Pops turned around giving him a loving smile then went back to cooking. Looking to Derek I asked "How did you sleep?"
"I slept good, thanks for asking Valentine." He looked out the window then back to me "How did you sleep?"
"Good but the little one wanted to play." I rubbed my belly when I noticed Derek looked a little nervous.
I raised a brow.
He looked to me "may I?" I gave a low chuckle I swear this guy looks big and scary. But when it comes to a little baby it scares the hell out of him.
He placed his hands on the side on my bump, his eyebrows came together while I held back a laugh. He was looking at it as if it was a puzzle. Pops who rolled his eyes mumbling stupid under his breath making me giggle. Derek's eyes looked up to mine and he shook his head.
"It's weird how a baby can grow in there." He let go still looked at me "and that's why I will never piss off a female. Because they are crazy."
I busted out laughing. I dabbled over placing a hand on the island leaning on Derek. His face was twisted when he said that I just couldn't hold it in "Your face was priceless." I gasped out.
Pops chuckled putting food on the island for us. "Derek, there is a lot of things we don't understand about women." he leaned on the countertop "It's just best to nodded your head and agree." I smiled at him while taking a bit of the food making a hum sound making them laugh at me.
I was half way done when it sounded like a herd of cows coming down the stairs. Followed by bickering. I looked to see the twins coming in when they saw me they both kissed both my cheeks at the same time. Making me whine. I hated when they did that! Soon everyone was down stairs joining us for breakfast. I was glad I ate before they came down. Because they tore up the food in a heartbeat. I looked around the table at my smiling cousins and I felt my heat tug and my eyes started to water.
Justin being Justin, called me out.
"Val, why are you crying?" Everyone stopped talking and looked at me.
