Bloodvile's Keeper

The One Who Protect Us.

"The legend says that people who go missing end up in the factory. Every night the factory people will start searching the areas for animals to do experiments illegally as experiments on animals are prohibited. The animals started to flee and over the years they died making this place animal-less. If you notice nobody even has a pet. 20 years ago, the factory was in dire need of a subject. That night Ryan and his wife with their two little kids went to the forest for camping, nobody returned. From that day onwards people started to go missing, whoever returned from the forest claimed that they saw someone named 'Keeper'. When someone goes missing after 2 months the person is announced dead. And the next day there will be a note in front of the house telling 'I tried to save them, but they didn't listen to me, sorry for your loss'. Even Scott got one at his home."
"People actually believes this?" Ian was very much curious I think, more than curious he thought this was all a myth. But I believed Alex, I saw him with my own eyes, heard his voice with my own ears.
Alex ignored Ian and continued "People tell that he is disfigured and has special abilities that no man possess. After 40 years of research, he was the first successful one but he destroyed the portion."
"That's not true, I saw him, he wasn't disfigured or something he was normal."
"It is all rubbish! It's just native folks making up stories. I'm going are you coming?" I was actually confused about whether to know more about this Keeper or go with my only friend in school.
"I'll catch up with you later Alex" and we both leave. After that, the rest of the day was a blur. Everything just passed by me and all I could think of was Keeper. When the school ended I totally forgot how to get back to my home. I neither had a bike nor car and to my surprise, there were no buses from school, in fact, no bus facility in the whole town. Only a few kids had a car and bikes the rest walked home. This gave me a feeling of home, back where we all used to walk together to the bus stop.
"Sup new girl?"
"Hey Caroline"
"You remember my name"
"Yeah, I do. Isn't that normal?"
"Yeah well we haven't seen an Indian before" the walk back home was very enjoyable and later it was just me, Ian, Alex and Caroline. We were the one living in the interior part of Bloodvile. When we were walking by I saw a huge house in the middle of a big farm.
"whose house is it?" I asked looking at Alex,
"That's Ryan's house"
"Keeper?" when I said that word Ian gave me scoff and Caroline looked at Alex and said,
"You told her about the Keeper? Are you crazy?"
"She saw Keeper" after hearing this Caroline turned to me in amazement.
"You saw the Keeper?"
"Yeah the day I came"
"What did he say?"
"he said that this place is not creepy but it is scary and haunted. Why what happened?"
"My grandpa saw the Keeper once, he turned crazy and suicided"
"I am so sorry" she gives out a sigh and smiles
"This is my home. Bye," she waves at us and stares at Alex, just then I notice that he was all along staring at me and when I turned to Ian he was staring at Alex.
"oh guys, I'm care's neighbour. See you guys. bye" We all wave goodbye and start walking again.
"Why were you staring at Alex?"
"He was the one staring at you, I was looking at him" I sarcastically nod my head.
"I'm telling the truth"
"And I believe you" we laugh and we reach his house.
"You wanna come in for coffee?"
"I'll pass, maybe next time when it is not 6 in the evening" it was nearly sunset and I had to get home.

"Ma, I'm home"
"Thank god you are here, where is Veda?"
"You were going to pick her up"
"What?" she takes out her car keys and rushes towards her car. I follow her. We reach her school to find Veda sitting in the parking area waiting for us.
"You took so long, I thought you forgot me" and she started to cry. I pick her up and console her. While sitting in the car I notice someone behind the bushes, I ignore that. But when going home I see a white truck coming out of the forest.

That day at night while eating dinner I told ma and pa about the story I hear from the school.
"It is just the haters of the factory saying ma, nothing else". Even though my father's voice was quite convincing and reassuring I couldn't sleep that night, not any night for the whole week.

4 months passed by my arrival and 3 months since I have been at school. Alex and Caroline became my best friends, me and Ian was something else, he won't tell me what it is and I don't wanna figure what it is unless and until he tells me. One Friday, Caroline comes and tells me that she is hosting a party at her home.
"Party? Today? At 6? I don't think my parents will leave me"
"Just try... please.."
"I can speak to your parents if you want to."
"Alex stop trying, it won't help"
"Hey chill both of you, I'll ask them and text you"
"Ok, I love you" I approach Ian to his locker.
"Ian, are you coming to today's party?"
"yeah guess so, why?"
"nothing, will you ask my parents?"
"Ah! Let me think?"
"Seriously?"
"You did the same thing when I asked for you to cover up for me in front of my parents"
"That I did"
"After begging you"
"No! after you asked nicely"
"Fine, I will. Happy?"
"very much. I love you"

That day we both left school early and reached home,
"Hi! Ian? Does she need permission for anything?"
"Maa!"
"What?" he looks at me weirdly and I eye him to ask mom about the party.
"Actually Mrs Raj, Caroline is throwing a party at her home today at 6 pm? Can I take her as my date?" what the hell? My mom looked at me and I give I didn't know it looks.
"For the party, you have my permission, for the date, it is up to her" I look at my mom and Ian awkwardly.
"Where is dad?"
"He is still in the factory"
"I'll go get changed"

After I changed into a new shirt I go with Ian to Caroline's house.
"Date?"
"Your mom likes me, it was a request from my side, I knew she can't say no to me"
"So you are telling me that you made it up and was not truthful. Ok now I can understand"
"It can be the truth if you want" I look at Ian and smirks. I love to leave him hanging, he doesn't tell his feelings so I play with him.

The party had alcohol or as you say booze, pizzaand a lot of gossips. Over there I meet Scott, the missing girl Vickie'sbrother.
"Hey Scott"
"What do you want? I have told you many times that I don't want to speak toyou."
"I know. I'm sorry if I am making you uncomfortable. I'm sorry if your sisterand her boyfriend who was your best friend went missing and never came back.I'm sorry if you got a note from Keeper apologising for losing your sister. Butguess what all of this is not my fault, so stop sulking at me!" after Icomplete I look around and then I noticed that I was yelling at him. Shit! Iapproached him to make things better but it made things worse.
"You are right, it not your fault that she died." And he walks away. Matthew goesafter him and I see Caroline, Alex and Ian looking at me. I grab my coat andgoes to the road.
"Hey!"
"Ian."
"You opened your mind and made sure that he hears it. I don't see a problem."
"Really? Just because you like me doesn't mean that you should defend me foreverything I do. I accept that I was insensitive about his sister's death."
"Actually it means the same thing and you never knew him before." and he grabsmy chin and kisses me. It wasn't for a long time but it did feel like a lifetime.Just then I hear the grasses move, like someone walking through it, between it.
"Ian? Did you hear that?"
"No, let's go back to kissing."
"No, I am serious." I see a figure in the woods and I grab Ian's hand and weboth run towards my house. When we reached, Veda was asleep. I locked all thedoor and windows.
"Akka? What's going on?"
"Veda go to our room. Wait, today sleep on the couch. Ok?"
"Ok, Akka. Goodnight Akka, goodnight Ian" We make a cup of coffee and wait forma and pa to come. They don't come for the whole night and by morning 7, I hearour calling bell. Ian was asleep on the table, Veda on the couch. I tiptoed tothe door and peeped through the curtain. I see ma and pa, tired as hell waitingfor me to open the door. I open the door and smile at them, they both tap myhead and goes straight to their room. I was lucky that they didn't see a 6 feetboy sleeping on the table. I pick Veda up and plant her to our room and wakesIan up.
"Ian, wake up."
"What time is it?"
"7.10"
"My parents might have reached. Oh, your parents will reach now. Let me hide."
"Hey calm down, they are upstairs sleeping. They didn't see you."
"I'll see you in the afternoon then" he gave me a little peck on my cheeks.
"Bye." Before he heads out of my home, we both hear our phones getting amessage alert. We pick it up and read it. It had the title 'MISSING' and underthat was Matthew's picture and the date and time of missing were yesterday by 8.15 pm, 15 minutes after I argued with Scott.
