Applied Physics for War Science Fiction Writers according to SunTzu

The Art of Space Warfare is based on SunTzu's strategies applied to conditions of war in weightlessness both inside and outside artificial atmospheres, just like the original, all of them consist of applying wisely the knowledge of human nature in the moments confrontational. however it is not a replacement for SunTzu's Art of War. but once you understand the roots of a conflict to find the solution you can apply it to war in space as well.

When it occurred to me to adapt his writings, I immediately thought of the criticism I would receive when addressing my personal intervention in the writings of the Genius General SunTzu of ancient China. who wrote his Art of War, an initially secret book that was made known to the whole world in its time and today its teachings are used around the world in different fields in addition to the one it was written for: how to lead a war to the victory. something that in modern history has escaped the understanding of many of those who had the responsibility to do it.

Understood that, I did not think of just adding the word "space" after each word "war" but making a meticulous study of its teachings and, given my humble tactical and physical knowledge, understand which ones would be obsolete in a conflict in conditions such as emptiness, weightlessness and great distances and thus choose not to include them. but to me, no surprise, it is still valid in most of his ideas and it will continue to be even when time doubles the antiquity that the Art of War has today. therefore with humility I seek more than to update the book, a war sci-fi writers guide based on real physics perhaps raising the level of veracity of the next material to be consumed by readers more nerd than myself.

evaluation

Sun Tzu says:

The space war is of vital importance for the Station Colony or Nation; it is the domain of the vital territory for its survival, the path to expansion or loss of resources: its proper application is imperative. Not to reflect seriously on everything that concerns him is to show a guilty indifference in regard to the preservation or loss of what is most dear to us; and this should not happen to us.

You have to assess space warfare in terms of five fundamental factors and make comparisons between various conditions on the opposing sides in order to determine the outcome.

factors:

A) doctrine;

B) time;

C) space;

D) command;

E) discipline.

Doctrine means that which makes the colonists in harmony with their ruler, so that they follow him wherever he goes, without fear of running any danger.

Time means the darkness of space and the illumination of a star, water and radiation, heating and cooling. and power supply

Space implies distances and refers to where it is easy or difficult to move and if it is open space or interiors of space stations or ships with narrower spaces, and this influences the chances of survival.

Command should be based on qualities such as: Love, Wisdom, Sincerity, Benevolence, Courage, and Discipline.

Finally, the discipline must be understood as the organization of the space force, the graduations and ranks among the officers, the logistics and regulation of supply routes and the provision of military material.

Each General and officer in charge of personnel must be governed according to these five factors: the forces that dominate them will win; those that do not, will be defeated. Therefore, when drawing up plans, they will compare the following seven factors, assessing each one with the utmost care:
