About Ella Salvatore : Ella Salvatore was turned into a vampire by Kathrine Pierce. For years Ella was attempting to look for a place she belongs and she found that with Kol Mikaelson and eventually in the Mikaelson family.
Ella's story was halted for centuries due to her brothers locking her in a coffin and leaving her to rot because she was too dangerous. However, Klaus Mikaelson found her and used her to his advantage.
Ella was focused on getting Kol back, after he had died the 2nd and 3rd time, finding herself in New Orleans to get a witches help. In turn she ends up helping the witches and the Mikaelsons.
Towards the end of the story, she had adopted a daughter to try and move on with her life instead of being stuck in drama.
In order to save her daughter and Klaus and Hayley's daughter, Ella had impulsively sucked in a part of the hallow which rendered her a danger to everyone around her, since she was not an original vampire. She wasn't able to control the hallow like the Mikaelson and ended up dying because of it.
