"Harry, I have a question to ask you." My words came out light and tense, shy almost. I peeked out at him from underneath my eyelashes. He looked at me for a moment before shutting off his phone. Harry placed his phone on the brown coffee table before he leaned back.
A stretching sound came out of his mouth and I smiled at how adorable it sounded.
Harry sat up straight again, his shirt pressed perfectly against his body. He leaned forward and rested his elbow on his knee, his hand stroking the stubble that was starting to grow on his face. I swallowed nervously.
"Shoot it at me." Harry murmured tiredly, his eyes focusing on me.
I didn't want him to do that. I hated it when people gave me their full attention. But I asked him the question anyways.
"Why did you take me?"
That question had been itching at my mind ever since Harry had brought me here. Although I hadn't really thought about it that much, since Harry would give blunt, nonsensical answers, it had always laid back somewhere in my subconscious. I would rack Harry's body language for answers, but from what I saw, he only wanted me for physical purposes.
Harry cleared his throat and turned away, looking in the direction of his bolted window. His head turned down and he let out a breathy sigh. His long fingers twiddled with each other and I stared at him intently.
"I have never loved anyone in my life as much as I love you." Harry's dark green eyes met my brown ones. "I hope you know that."
"Thank you, Harry." I murmured. "Can we go somewhere, please? I'm sick of being cooped up in this house."
"Depends on what you mean by 'somewhere.'" Harry spoke with an edge to his voice.
"Just somewhere," I continued, with a tint of desperation in my voice. "Please, Harry. I'm sick of being cooped up in this house."
"Ariana, baby girl," Harry sighed deeply, rubbing his eyes. He suddenly winced in pain and sat up straighter, before rubbing his back. "My back hurts so bad."
"Harry, you're like thirty, not eighty nine." I rolled my eyes. "I'll even go with you to the grocery store if you want."
"There's no one around here for miles, but I can always let you wander free outside. I've noticed that you've taken a keen interest in my island." He eyed me warily. I shifted in discomfort.
"You sound like a rich, pretentious asshole. I hope you know that." I murmured. "You didn't fully answer my question... logically, you know."
"So you wanted to go out of the island, right?" Harry quickly changed the subject. I promptly dropped the subject, I literally would have done anything just to get out of his fucking house and stay away from it forever.
"Yes, please." I nearly squeaked. I dismissed all my previous thoughts and he sighed, closing his eyes for a brief moment.
"Alright, baby girl, let's go."
