AUTHOR'S NOTE 2024
I was 12-13 years old when I wrote this fic.
I am 23 now and over the years I realize how out of pocket, triggering, and sensitive these themes are as an adult. I would love to get back into writing another story from a place with more knowledge and sensitivity in mind -- I was an adolescent whose trauma reflected in the way I wrote. I have not reread this story because I know I will pull back on my decision to republish from embarrassment, so I'll go through reading this along with you all together and we can all cringe!
I am republishing this so that I can allow others who have always loved this story to reread it; and to compare my writing from over a decade ago to the way I write now.
Think of this republish as a fossil, or an archive of the past internet, before everything was paywalled and now, instead of community - we just have excessive advertising from corporations and paywalls.
I love you all, thank you so much for your support over the years...
anyways, here's Restricted again! :)
*trigger warning: dark themes, huge age difference, and slight abuse and mature content. if you don't like this stuff, don't read.*
He wasn't supposed to fall for her.
His ex-girlfriend's daughter.
Because well, that was twisted.
But he didn't care, he wanted her.
She drew him in.
And he was willing to do everything in his power to have her.

"Ariana, listen to me." Harry demanded, capturing my chin in his strong grasp. I cowered back in fear, although I made no progress. He was so, so intimidating, and he scared me to the death. I didn't want him to know, but he was well aware of it, as was I. There was no point in hiding it. "Don't tell your mother or her, her, disgusting husband about this."
He shouldn't be telling me this, since well, they're my parents. I nodded anyways, tears burning at the corner of my eyes. "I won't, Harry, I promise I won't."
"Very, very good." He hummed in approval, a glistening in his eyes before he released me from his grip. "Pack your stuff, I'll be here again at three, afterschool."
"What? Why? How do you know what time I get off-" I started.
"Shh, don't question me." he said quietly before a smirk graced his lips, leaving me speechless. He seemed to be keeping something from me, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't something good. "Remember, three o' clock tomorrow, afterschool. Don't you dare try to run away, or I'll find you myself. Do you understand?"
"Yes, I do." I mumbled obediently, a skill I learned from my teacher. She would correct anyone who used "yeah," or "what?" This seemed to satisfy Harry, for he kissed my forehead and walked away from me, grabbing his keys in the process.
I knew I had to make a run for it, even though this was my house and my family wasn't at a really huge risk. I was afraid, and whenever I was, I tended to run away from my problems.
I skidded to Harry, eyeing him cautiously while he was distracted on his iPhone and I walked out the front door. I looked back and the door was wide open, with Harry nowhere in sight. I sighed in relief and decided to move in temporarily with Melina, because she was one of my best friends and I'm pretty sure she'd understand.
Plus, I doubt my mum really cared. She was too infatuated with her money, her alcohol, and her popularity status. Mum were all about elegance and ettiquette, telling me to use my manners and to never drink alcohol although she never followed her own rules.
I quickly scanned the list on my phone and Melina's name and phone number was there in bold letters. Her name always stood out to me because she was usually the person I always went to for support, guidance, and anything you could possibly ask for. She was like a mother, friend, and kid in one person.
Except she was better.
I pressed on the 'call' button, and Melina picked up on the second ring, her breezy voice chattering in puffs of words. "Oh, my God, Ariana, guess wha-"
She didn't get to finish her sentence. "Melina. Melina, could I stay with you for a few weeks, because oh my goodness, it's so hard to explain and it's so terrifying, I just can't cope and I need to escape, and-"
"What are you doing?" Harry's voice said calmly from behind me. I let out a scream and turned around, hanging up on Melina.
"I was, just," I stuttered, but my mind was blank. I desperately tried to think of something, but he beat me.
"Trying to hide from me?" he accused, stepping forward. I stepped backwards, almost tripping over a large boulder. I didn't say anything, he knew the truth. We both did, there was no need to clarify that.
"Well, let me tell you something," he paused, brushing a stray strand of hair from my face. I kept my mouth shut. "You could run from me, you can hide, but I will always find you."
My body grew cold and I bit my tongue, the metallic flavor surfacing slowly.
"Didn't I tell you not to escape?" He set his lips in a thin line.
I nodded.
"Yet, you disobeyed me." he stated disapprovingly. "That's not good, is it?"
I shook my head.
"Ah, I think I need to teach you a little something." he laughed maniacally, revealing a black cloth from the inside of his coat pocket. My eyes widened as the faint smell of something toxic hit me. Before I could process anything, he shoved the cloth onto my mouth and nose, making me scream. I desperately tried to hold my breath, but he wrapped his arm around me, holding me in place.
My neighborhood was a quiet place, and no one was out during this time.
There weren't any witnesses.
"Come on, breathe, baby, breathe." he mumbled reassuringly. "I've got you, breathe for me."
If I didn't breathe, I would soon pass out from lack of oxygen. If I did, I'd pass out from the chloroform. I didn't really have a choice, so I involuntarily inhaled in the substance. My world became disoriented as everything faded away, my body going limp in Harry's arms. I heard the faint sounds of crickets and birds, but nothing was more audible than Harry's words.
"Good girl."
