There was giddy laughter in the air, coming from two boys that had their hands intertwined. Who would've thought that Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter would become a couple? And a happy one at that?

Draco smiled, and it was as dazzling as ever. His steel, yet misty, grey eyes crinkled at the edges in pure happiness as he stared at his laughing love.

Harry's unruly black hair was as messy as ever, the cold winter air stinging his cheeks into a pink flowers would be jealous of.

Draco's heart ached. He longed to be something more with Harry but was too nervous to actually ask the question. He cursed himself for being too scared. He already had the ring, why couldn't he just drop to one knee and say it? "Harry James Potter, will you marry me?" It was that easy!

~~~~~
Harrys voice cracked as he tried to speak through choked sobs. He held Draco close to him, feeling the life slip out of his boyfriends body.
This couldn't be happening. Just moments ago they were happily walking through the frost-covered park until.. no. Harry shook his head and clutched Draco closer, crying into his chest.
"Draco.." no response. He tried again. "Draco!" A long seven seconds of silence went by until he felt that tingle in his nose again and broke into fresh sobs.
It had all happened so quickly, one moment Draco was holding his hand and pressing a kiss to the top of his head and the next he was.. lying on the ground with a paled face.
Harry ran a distressed hand through his hair as his body was racked with a fresh set of sobs. He loved Draco. Draco couldn't be dying in his arms. That wasn't fair.
~~~~~

"Harry.." Draco sounded somewhat anxious from where he was in the kitchen.

"Yes Draco-" he stopped as he saw the reason Draco had called him over. The bloody toaster was on fire. "Draco.."

"Harry, do you smell that?"

"Yes Draco. I smell the burning toaster."

"Really? Because I only smell my burning love for you" Draco cocked an eyebrow at Harry, even though what he had just said was completely idiotic and less than smooth.

Harry smiled at him, unable to hold back some laughter as Draco pulled him into a short, sweet kiss, both boys forgetting about the combined toaster and fire hazard.

~~~~~
No. Harry refused to believe it. Draco was too young to die. He was forced into reality as the paramedics brought Draco into the ambulance.
He felt like he should do more but, his legs just wouldn't move. He desperately wanted to go change out of his sticky clothes but.. he couldn't.
He felt useless. He had no idea how he could help Draco, or himself. He was just.. stuck.
He felt a warm, heavy hand rest on his shoulder. No doubt to comfort him.
It didn't comfort him.
The hand was warm like Draco's, but didn't have the cool undertones. The hand was heavy like Draco's, but it didn't posses the long, slim features that made it lighter.
He stopped himself from pushing them away.
~~~~~

Draco watched as Harry gently, but not so graciously, danced around their living room. His steps were messy and inaccurate to the dance, something that would've driven Draco mad had it not been Harry, but mesmerizing all the same.

The blanket Harry had wrapped around himself flowed as he moved and floated when he twirled.

As Harry made another misstep Draco swooped in, taking Harry away in the dance, making Harry drop his blanket. Draco swayed and Harry spun to the song on the radio, the rain tapping softly on the window.

Harry smiled warmly, letting his head rest against Draco's chest as they moved to a slow and gentle pace. Draco had his arms around the small of Harry's back, and Harry had his arms up over Draco's shoulders.

Draco smiled and let his chin rest on the top of Harry's head, pulling the raven haired boy closer to himself as they slow danced to the radio.
