Drilis Ertugrul: A New Love

Chapter 2

Halime Sultan woke up to the sound of drums loudly banging... yes again. She looked around her and saw Ertugul sitting on a prayer mat and reading Quran after finishing praying fajr prayer. ' Hayirdir inshallah' she said to him. Ertugul got up from the prayer mat and left the tent. Halime quickly made dua for everyone to be safe before quickly getting dressed and putting on her headdress. Halime rushed out of the tent and couldn't believe her eyes when she saw many soldiers sitting tall on their dark horses wearing their black uniforms and their commander in front of them. 'Mongols' she said underneath her breath. She looked around for her family and saw Hayme Ana walking towards her and Ertugul and his alps beginning to fight against some of the Mongol soldiers. Halime's heart was racing on the inside but she had to be strong. She saw dead bodies of innocent men women, and children around the camp. Hayme Ana came up to her and told her " Halime, we must get ready to fight and show these bloody Mongols the power of Kayi hatuns'. Halime nodded and saw Fatma and Summaiyah Hatun and also approaching, but there was no time for chit-chat, Kayi tribe was in danger. Halime ran towards the tent to look for her children and to make sure they were safe, Mongol soldiers spotted her and started to attack her. Halime pulled out her dagger and slit one of the soldier's throat, but soon another one came and tried to stab her however Ertugul saw and threw a sword to Halime. Halime took the sword and got into a violent sword-fight with the soldier, which ended in him being stabbed in the chest. Halime turned around and saw Osman coming with his sword and being ready to join the battle, Halime tried to stop him but he was determined to help his father. Osman fought along Ertugul and his alps however he was still a child and a soldier came from behind and was about to stab him in the back, however Fatma Hatun came just in time and sliced off the soldier's head, he fell to the floor in pain. Fatma grabbed Osman and led him back to the tent. Halime was shocked, without Fatma Osman could have died or gotten seriously injured. Halime ran to the tent and barely escaped the arrow of a Mongolian soldier while she was running. Hayme Ana, Savci, Summaiyah Hatun, and Selcan Hatun, Fatma and Osman were sitting inside the tent. They all had swords and daggers and were ready to fight any intruders. Halime immediately went to give her beloved Osman a big hug. She then went to thank Fatma Hatun and Fatma replied " Estağfurullah yenge" (don't mention it, aunt). Just at that moment, Aslihan Hatun came rushing into the tent being led by a Mongolian soldier who had a knife to her throat. Everyone gasped. Aslihan was trying to break from his clutches. Hayme Ana yelled at the soldier " What do you want from us?!". The Mongol soldier replied " Give us Fatma Hatun and Summaiyah Hatun or Aslihan Hatun will die". Everyone looked at Fatma and Summaiyah. " What do you want from Fatma  and Summaiyah Hatun?" Selcan Hatun asked. The soldier replied " Summaiyah Hatun didn't tell you about her long history with Mongols?". Selcan Hatun looked at Summaiyah Hatun and asked her " What is he saying, Summaiyah Hatun?". Summaiyah gulped, she looked guilty. Fatma Hatun looked confused. Summaiyah finally replied and said " This man speaks nonsense, his commander,  Abaqa Khan hated my late husband Sungertekin Bey, that's why he wants to kidnap me and my daughter". While everyone was busy talking and the Mongol soldier was distracted, Aslihan Hatun bit the soldier's hand and quickly pulled out her dagger and put it to the soldier's throat. Halime saw what happened and alerted everyone. Just as Aslihan was about to slit the soldier's throat with her sharp knife, the soldier shouted " Let me live and I will tell you about the snake who is in your tent, this Summaiyah Hatun who you blindly trust". 

Tension is rising in Kayi tribe, mongols have attacked, rumors are being spread, Is Summaiyah Hatun who she says she is? What will happen next?
